yossi gurvitz: Netanyahu: Hoist by his own Petard writes a don’t miss re this deal and links to didi remez translating yediot’s ‘veteran defense analyst’.

The problem I have with those who argue for a quick military strike is that they seem to be arguing from an Israeli perspective.
man o man does that ever sum it up~!
Great panel! It clearly illustrates the sort of “justice” favoured by “humanists”.
I’m surprised Abbas is even sitting at a table. He should be kneeling down so that Netanyahu can rest his feet on Abbas’ back.
or place his foot on his neck
i like those american helicopters full of cash.
I wonder: Do those choppers represent “humanizing ‘the Other’” or “enough Zionism”? Political cartoons can sometimes be very hard to interpret… ;-)
Love that fallen little chair under Abu Mazen’s table.
That’s Ben Bernanke in the helicopter over O’Barmy’s head, and William Dudley of the New York Fed hoovering over Miss Hill.
It’s only free money! Hope Israel still accepts dollars … 8-()
There is no question that Netanyahu is a difficult leader to support. He may be in earnest that he desires a peace with the PA, but he doesn’t do the simple things to accomplish that (settlement freeze).
Most that follow the issue at all already see the point of the sketch.
But, they DON’T see the alternative. The single-state left and left-right does NOT provide a viable alternative. BDS does not provide a viable alternative.
The only viable alternative is a negotiated two-state proposal followed by ratification of consenting communities. If opportunists on both “sides” are disappointed by the product of negotiation and ratification, they will have to adjust or fight and kill for the rest of their lives.
The balance of justice does not result from punishing the past, in pendulum swings of mutual injustices. It results in forming a consensus based on the will of the present electorate(s) achieving a viable future.
If refugees are assisted, that is the healing, that is the justice. Removing another family from their home is not justice.

Couldn’t agree more.
I disagree. why should some one get rewarded for breaking the law. your basicly saying saying all that’s needed for everything to be ok is for Israel to oops sorry. that just not good enough
punish the past is wrong so I suppose we should let all those rapists and murders free because we are unjusticely punishing them for the past. The illogic you use to prevent peace(which requires justice and by that I mean real justice where people get punished for their crime not that crap you peddle)
Pjdude,
You can put people in jail, beat them, discredit them, execute them, and if the fruit of that is an unchanged soul and a bitter community, you’ve not achieved justice, but promoted future injustice.
The present to the future is the only relevant orientation for justice.
Imperfect title is a present condition, that needs to be perfected (made whole). And, facts in cases relating to the chain of title from 1948 and before are important to determine those cases.
But, those are determined SPECIFICALLY, and not by generalization.
“by that I mean real justice where people get punished”. You sound like a reactionary in that sentiment, more than a liberator.
>> The present to the future is the only relevant orientation for justice.
And that, pjdude, is precisely why Israel – instead of halting its illegal and immoral activities and making any sort of amends for its past crimes – continues to steal, oppress, colonize and murder, and it’s also why defenders of Israel and Zio-supremacism continue to “Remember the Holocaust!”.
