American-made teargas was also fired in occupied East Jerusalem

Lisa Goldman made this photo of a teargas canister fired in Silwan, in East Jerusalem, last September. Also made in the U.S. In Silwan, a Jewish colony is grabbing Palestinian land just below the Zion gate of the Old City.

I am glad you are showing photographic evidence of these weapons, it helps to crystallize reality of the colonial oppression. Below you will find a photograph of actual shrapnel taken from the bodies of Palestinians, stamped with Made In The USA –

SHELLED IN YOUR SLEEP – GAZA

  2. Oscar says:

The question is whether the IDF has stopped using tear gas on peaceful demonstrators and are now using lethal chemical weapons. The spent canisters should be analyzed for trace chemicals utilized in chemical warfare.

  3. Potsherd2 says:

They won’t be able to do that much longer, with all the settlers horning in. The gas might irritate some Jews!

    • If you think the IDF is worried about injuring Jews or anybody else you should check out someone like Matan Cohen who had an eye removed after a rubber bullet was aimed right in his face when he was demonstrating at Bil’in.
Mairead Corrigan who used to be front-page news in UK when she was leading Northern Irish ‘peace women’ , and won Nobel peace prize, was injured twice by the occupation forces at Bil’in. But neither British nor Irish papers nor the BBC reported this. Once you take sides with Palestinians fighting for their rights you become an ‘unperson’ so far as our media are concerned. Good job we got alternatives like Mondoweiss.

      • Potsherd2 says:

But those weren’t real Jews. Those were self-hating Jews.

I’m talking about the settler Jews living in Silwan, the gas might waft through their window into their houses.

  4. Amar says:

Do not use after expiration date? Because its less harmful then?

    • mig says:

Well, what i know, if used after expiration date. Gas effectiveness may vary. There might be some aerosol propellant leaking out, and two ways it can change gas effect. It might make gas coming stronger, or less effective. Thats why factory marks expiration date to canister or spray bottle.

I have myself OC gas, and it has said that it cant be used after exp. date because it might become stronger => more harmful, maybe.

  5. VR says:

Gas can also be contaminated with more virulent substance, the contamination can cause any combination of symptoms. The canisters should be examined for tampering, which could explain the long distance that was used to shoot them. Particulates can be added which adhere to the breathing passage ways, and are especially dangerous to people with asthmatic conditions or pre-existing conditions, which still does not excuse Israeli violence.

Is this like the one whose contents killed Jawaher Abu Rahme and blinded Emily the American artist?

Whoever decided that it was a good idea to identify the country of origin of various weapons, chemicals, etc., must be kicking himself now. I’m waiting for that requirement to disappear, as in the case of the food industry refusing to label GMO or GBH foods.
