(Finally) a mainstream radio host describes Gaza as a jail and mocks angry readers’ letters

I was twirling the dial while driving and heard this guy Pete Dominick, a host on POTUS--a mainstream satellite station.  Kind of great on I/P -- he had on a Palestinian former Princeton prof guest, deftly parried hasbara points, talked about Gaza being a jail, yet while still exuding  a certain sympathy for Israelis.  Then Dominick read mockingly from an email from someone hoping to get him fired, saying he would forward the complaint to his bosses, but if it were just sent to "customer service" it wouldn't get through.  The call-in people were smart too, and really impressively fair-minded.  Easily the best I've heard on mainstream American media.

    It’s typical of Zionists to attempt to get the Palestinian perspective banned or censored.

    Notice how jon s and other Zionists here at MW, have equated the censoring of Palestinian childrens’ art to the BDS movement.

    BDS, boycotts the normalization of Israel in the West as a part of Brand Israel AS WELL as boycotting the companies that profit/operate off of and in the OT.

    Zionist groups in the US, although they are Jewish religious groups and community groups and call themselves such, boycott the Palestinian VOICE. They boycott Palestinians telling us in the West, THEIR side of the story.

    There is no parallel between our tactics and intentions and motivations and the Zionist agenda which is wholly about censorship and dominating the narrative precisely because if Americans are continually exposed to the Palestinian experience they will gravitate toward supporting them.

    DISGUSTING!

    That is why we have the Zionist meme of ‘blah blah why are you talking about Israel when blah blah is worse’.

    Liars and thieves are all they are.

      Zionists consider the Palestinian narrative antisemitic. They’ll stop at nothing to censor it and will go as low as they can if they have to. Like those lawyers who sue pro-Palestinian activists and use Israeli ‘terror victims’

    MY COMMENT: This is a nice example of one of the most common defense mechanisms, that of rationalization.
    FROM PLANET PSYCH:
    • Rationalization is the cognitive reframing of ones perceptions to protect the ego in the face of changing realities. Thus, the promotion one wished fervently for and didn’t get becomes “a dead end job for brown nosers and yes men”.

    That’s great, and isn’t it a coincidence that the lunatic from Iran will be speaking at Columbia as well a couple of days before this. He also agrees with the narrative against Israel and the Jews as voiced here.

        Shingo, you and your cohorts don’t actually believe in free speech. When Netanyahu tried to speak at Concordia, he was rudely interrupted. This happens on a regular basis with Israeli speakers. Yet when the leader of a country like Iran speaks, you want free speech.

        The anti-Israel narrative is what this site is all about. I don’t have to waste my time proving it to you.

          So what? Netanyahu is a war criminal and a sociopath. And the reason it happens on on a regular basis with Israeli speakers is becasue they are liars and wa mongers who support human rights absues adn breaches of law and equality.

          Yet when the leader of a country like Iran speaks, you want free speech.

          The leader of Iran was hanragued and vilified the last time he spoke at Colombia. Of course, it’s laughable to hear you complain about free speech when Netehyahu was allowed to insult the US president during his speech to Congress.

          You confirm my point loud and clear. THIS IS YOUR OPINION, so you decided they should not be allowed to speak, but you fiercely promote free speech, What a joke.

          (Of course, if I were to say that all Palestinian speakers and leaders are terrorists, (which I would not) you would cry racist, Islamophobe and all the other choice terms you guys like to throw around.

          No LLI, your point is that Netenyahu was denied fredom of speech, when in fact he has been granted the largest stages in the world to speak.

          There is no denying that Israeli leadefrs are liars, war mongers (they are always threatening war) and support human rights abuses and breaches of international law and justice.

          The fact that you don’t like hearing it doesn’t change the fact.

    I’ve been listening to Pete Dominick for a while-he’s great on all the issues, not just I/P. He has the best guests who know their topics, whether it’s the economy, global warming, or whatever, and the most intelligent callers I’ve ever heard on a radio talk show. And if the callers are not making any sense or being abusive, he calls them on it and hangs up on them. So refreshing.
