Five New York City police investigators are in Israel for a symposium on suicide bombers. The officers are apparently the first members of a U.S. police department to receive training from Israeli counter-terrorism experts.
"Obviously after 9/11 everyone's world changed," Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said. "We have to be as prepared as we can be for any eventuality."
The New York Police Department (NYPD) has a detective "based in Israel" who reports back to department head Ray Kelly. The relationship continues.
Fast-forward to the present, where in recent weeks a steady drip of outrageous revelations about the NYPD's indiscriminate spying on Muslim New Yorkers continues to be published by the Associated Press.
Israeli "counter-terror" tactics rely on a racist dragnet that labels every Palestinian a threat to Israeli security, much in the same way the NYPD's operation reveal that the department believes every Muslim guilty until proven innocent.
The NYPD, of course, needs no help in learning the tactics of racial profiling when it comes to policing communities of color. But the close relationship between the NYPD and Israel on counter-terrorism merits a closer look. Just what insight is the NYPD gathering from Israeli security?
Is the NYPD's spying operation on Muslim New Yorkers yet another example of, as Scott McConnell put it, "anti-Muslim bigotry" becoming embedded in the U.S. due in part to Israeli-centric ideas about counter-terrorism?

One must seriously ponder the inmplications and ramifications. Are local police departments in less urban locales being tasked to monitor those Americans that may are expressing thoughts and ideals that are critical of, or oppose, Israel and its corrosive meddling in our policies and government????
I have long suspected YES, such monitoring is occurring nationwide. Why else would we have literally MILLIONS of Americans on “no fly lists”.

I can’t wait for metal detectors to be installed in every shopping mall and store, parking garages to have security to check each and every entering car’s trunk and driver’s ID, roadblocks along routes leading to “Arab neighborhoods”, wiretapping and illegal interception of data and e-mail, inspection of ‘suspicious’ passengers at every train station, bomb techs checking every garbage can along city streets on a regular basis……
This is Israel’s idea of ‘security’ and it’s been imported to America by bureaucrats looking to further their careers and implement their racist ideals.
Foreign policy — and in Israel’s case its decades-long military occupation of another people — has nothing to do with it all. They hate us for our freedoms, you see?
It’s the same pig-headed solutions we have all seen implemented at various high schools across the US.
Whenever there is a shooting, the immediate solution is to install metal detectors, cameras and hire some security. Rarely do any of the decision makers pause to think that perhaps there is something wrong with society or their own policies.
After Columbine, it turned out the two shooters were routinely bullied and alienated. A smart school administrator would have implemented a program that promoted respect and cooperation among students, a program that opened the channels of communications for distraught students seeking to deal with their social or domestic problems.
But no, the knee-jerk reaction was to turn that school, among others, into the equivalent of a minimum security prison and enforce stricter discipline.
Incidentally, I see parallels between the school culture that promotes Jocks and marginalizes others and American exceptionalism within the context of foreign policy.

Israel trained NYPD, ADL trains police all over the country, Israel trained TSA and other ‘security’ agencies, Israel trained the soldiers staffed at gitmoo and other detention facilities (teaching them such torture techniques as “Palestinian hanging”)… We have also recently adopted the immoral Israel covert assassination policy.

The Ziosbarists would ignorantly say “what does the ADL have to do with Israel?” and of course something like “Israel is an expert in security and combating Islamic terror” which the uninformed American public would buy but most here know better. I think it was the Pennsylvania government that purchased a subscription to a ‘terror alert’ service run by an Israeli-based company. They cancelled the service after receiving alerts ‘warning’ them about gay pride event and student protests. The Israeli company excuse was that they attract terrorists. These people are nuts. This is insanity, I am embarrassed to be an American and put up with this nonsense.
