Che’s definition of activism

Who Killed Che?, new book from OR

One of the lawyers assisting Occupy Wall Street is Michael Ratner of the Center for Constitutional Rights, whom the Guardian quoted yesterday: “This movement is ultimately not about what happens in the courts, it’s about what happens in the streets.”

Ratner and Michael Smith have a book out called Who Killed Che? How the CIA Got Away With Murder, based on new CIA and White House documents they have unearthed about the revolutionary leader’s execution in Bolivia in 1967. And at a party for their book 10 days ago, Ratner explained why Che Guevara is honored, in Berlin cafes, on Cuban mountainsides, and in Zuccotti Park:

Che understood the meaning of the term, philosophers think about the world, our job is to change it. That is why he has been such an inspiration in Tahrir Square, and all over the world. What he did was not just sit in coffee houses, talking about the problems of the world. He acted. And all of us who believe in a better world are inspired by that example.

“He acted. ”

What would be an example of that action? What does that mean?

Here, Phil’s action is to talk. Is that action? Or, is there something else referred to?

Didn’t this dude also kill a ton of people? Im not really up on my Che history here……

Hitler and Stalin also “acted”.

Here is a good video describing Che’s “activism”.

“Che killedby CIA”

That’s the problem. If you stop talking and sipping lattes, the banker-military mafia will notice you and try to stop you by any means necessary.

The solution is mass: If you’re not alone, if you’re instead millions of people who have a clear, common vision about what needs to be done, and sound knowledge of all the tricks in the mafias’ book (like agent provocateurs, divide and conquer, false flag attacks), then you’re unstoppable.
