Uncle Shmuel wants you (to fight and breed)

I missed this in August. It’s from the Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces site and underlines what Kiera Feldman wrote about Birthright, that it’s all about making Jewish babies:

A 747 jumbo charter Aliyah flight arrived in Tel Aviv from JFK airport on Tuesday morning, August 16th, carrying 360 North Americans moving to Israel. The flight, sponsored by Friends of the IDF (FIDF), was organized by Nefesh B’Nefesh and the Jewish Agency, in cooperation with Israel’s Ministry of Immigrant Absorption. Among the 132 singles on board the flight, were 104 young men and women who will be joining the IDF in the coming months.

New, fresh, young blood arrived.

That’s what the Catholics tried here (Netherlands) to get a majority. I was raised Catholic myself and my parent’s generation got a visit from the priest after they had just been married, asking them to hurry up and have kids already. They didn’t count on those kids turning away from Catholicism in such large numbers that they are now a tinier minority than ever before.

>> Lone Soldiers

So majestic, so tragic, so heroic! Is this the Israeli term for “martyrs”?

>> When Julie Feldman … a Reform Jew from New York City, arrived at Ben Gurion Airport in December 2008, she called herself “a blank slate.”

Ripe for indoctrination.

>> She returned as the attack on Gaza was under way, armed with a new “pro-Israel” outlook.

“Mission accomplished!”

I was raised on a very dubious contraceptive advice from my catholic school. If I followed it faithfully, it would still mean nought, as you were also meant to submit to your husband, who is a head of the family, and idea of abstinence requires co-operation, LOL.

Uncle Shmuel;I never thought of that. That’s a good one.I guess that’s reality huh?
