Barak, messianic
Former Shin Bet head Yuval Diskin's discourse-warping indictment of Bibi and Barak as self-anointed messiahs is not hyperbolic criticism; it's based on (among other things) an actual megalomaniac Barak statement:
"At the end of the day, when the military command looks up, it sees us — the minister of defense and the prime minister. When we look up, we see nothing but the sky above us." - Ehud Barak
In the Jewish religion, Yahweh is not just "the one and only true G-d," he resides in the sky.
Brings to mind this classic techno song. "Who loves you and who do you love? The Messiahs! Without further ado, it's time...to start...BOMBING IRAN!"

What a smug little man! He seems not to realize that having nothing but the sky above you isn’t a guarantee that nothing bad will ever happen to you.
Someone needs to Photoshop a handkerchief into his hand and some bird turd onto his head. (Gotta hate it when those seagulls come swooping in unexpectedly!)
Kudos for the term “Deputy Messiah”.
/megalomaniac Barak statement/
It only sounds megalomaniac to people who never had to deal with the burden of command.
It only sounds non-megalomaniac to people brought up to assume they have a divine right to take other people’s land, and then claim it is a ‘burden’ to have to administrate the apartheid they have created in the process. The old ‘white man’s burden’ routine.
Just look at the hilarious photo of Barak in his Disney wonderland of zionism, complete with proto fascist salute. LOL
You do understand that in your comment you are not talking
to me but to your own imagined straw man of an Israeli right?
You’re not doing much of a job in defending the indefensible, are you?
I agree, OlegR. In a democracy they would “look up” to the people. In military states it’s different.
Something is missing here: “the starry sky above and the moral law within” — do those guys have anything within?
They do.
Yes, a moral black hole
Well, according to many Israel Firsters, like Beiden (so long as he can feed of it), and Joe Lieberman, and, you count them, those hick leaders of ours that have parroted there is no sky between Israel and USA, that is, between their respective interests, we should look up at the sky and only see a waving Israel/US flag pin imprinted on cloth.
For your entertainment, I give you an young, modern, Jewish American’s fix on Archbishop, Tutu’s take on Israeli conduct and policy: link to dsadevil.blogspot.com
Note that his core argument is based on the fact Tutu is suspect, and worthy to tear down because he was not born a Jew. He totally ignores Jews like Phil, Adam, Mooser, Shmuel, etc.
