Trump is bad because Israeli Jews will love him and US Jews will see it — NYT columnist

Shmuel Rosner, one of the many pro-Israel columnists at the New York Times, has an op-ed today titled, “How Donald Trump Will Divide American and Israeli Jews.” Trump is bad not because of anything he will do to the American political discourse or American women or Muslims or minorities but because of what he will do to the relationship between American and Israeli Jews: alienate their affections. Navel-gazing, thy name is Rosner.

If his policies match his campaign rhetoric, Israelis, with time, will grow to like him. American Jews, meanwhile, will seethe…

American presidents like Mr. [W.] Bush, Mr. Obama and Mr. Trump are bad for relations between Israel and Jews in the United States. They lay bare the fact that American Jews and Israeli Jews have different sets of priorities and values….

What will happen if American Jews see the good relationship that President Trump has with Israel? It will make many of them uneasy. It will make them doubt Israel’s values and morality. It will alienate them from Israel.

What is going to happen if Israeli Jews see American Jews oppose President Trump at every step? It will make the Israelis question the Americans’ good judgment, and doubt their commitment to Israel’s security.

The column is a march of moral idiocy, as Donald Johnson said in passing it along. “If Trump loves Netanyahu and vice versa it will do more than anything activists could write to show just how racist Israel is.” The idiocy lies in the fact that Rosner is blasting everyone except the Clintons for exposing this divide; when the divide is occurring for very good reasons on its own, say when Israel bombs Gaza and slaughters 500 Palestinian children, or when Netanyahu warns his Jewish voters that Arabs are coming out to the polls “in droves”. Israel is a middle eastern ethnic tyranny. Why should American Jews want anything to do with it? If big Jewish donors are suddenly balking at giving money to Israel, it’s because of Israel’s behavior.

Thankfully, Rosner reveals here the essential truth of the Israel lobby: American Jews hold the breathing tube for Israel because they effect US policy. And also the lobby’s destructive selfishness: what would its adherents sacrifice to keep American Jews ignorant of Israeli society and Israeli practices? Just about everything.

Q. When will the New York Times stop running pieces like this? A. When the neoconservative cell that still holds key offices in the Times bureaucracy is exposed and dismantled. That process will be accelerated by Hillary Clinton’s collapse, and the reformation of the Democratic Party as a progressive one. Q. When will the Times publish anti-Zionist Jews? Same answer.

Meanwhile, in the UK:

“The Jewish Socialists’ Group is extremely alarmed at the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States. … It is shocking then, that Jonathan Arkush, the President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews – the institution that claims to represent our community – was so quick off the mark in enthusiastically congratulating Trump, whose success has been warmly welcomed by far right leaders across Europe, along with our Conservative Prime Minister, Theresa May. ”

It is so obvious, and we see this far more frequently than we should. Pro Israel Americans, whose first thought in these situation is for Israel, how Israelis will react, and we see that they are hardly concerned for the well being of their fellow Americans, their safety, their progress, and what is best for the US. Now they will watch if Trump’s policies will favor Israel mostly, before they decide to “fall in love” with Trump. That love will be long lasting and unwavering if Trump (most probably) will give legitimacy to the occupation, and give the zionist the capital they are desperate to steal. Shame on the New York Times to have these zionists who show patriotism for Israel over the nation they live, work, and raise their children in.

“slaughters 500 Palestinian children”

what is the matter with you and Donald that you believe it anything other than revolting to count only children killed,

the casualties from protective edge were circa 2100, sanctions on Iraq killed conservatively 1.5 million not 500k children,

you should count all those that your government murders, Arabs once they reach their majority are invisible?

nor do Arabs require innocence to enjoy their right to life or to be counted when you kill them.

Israel should get out in front on this thing.
Israel and the US State Department (FBI can do the investigation and enforce the ban) can arrange and validate a mass excommunication of American Jews. There will be nothing for American former Jews to do but hand over all their assets, all their influence, any power they may have, to the Zionists, and then have their lips sewn shut.

What I have a hard time conceiving of (and I’m the guy which increased the Jewish demographic by several orders of magnitude, too.) is what a (forgive me) non-Jewish person thinks when they read this op-ed. Or what on earth Rosner thinks they will think?

Oh well, I can’t blame Rosner. My Mom told me over and over when I was a baby, that my pupick was beautiful, perfect, and well worth gazing at.
