Authors China Miéville, Gillian Slovo, Tom Warner and Omar el Khairy visited Jerusalem to learn about the Israeli occupation as part of the 2013 Palestine Festival of Literature. From the video’s YouTube page:
Authors and artists attending the 2013 Palestine Festival of Literature were taken around Jerusalem, where they saw the multiple techniques being employed to ethnically cleanse the city. They crossed into the city through Qalandia checkpoint and met with people in the Old City, Sheikh Jarrah and smaller, surrounding neighbourhoods. This is what they saw.
You can watch a similar film Murat Gökmen made of the authors visiting Hebron here.
Ethnic cleansing zionist style. How the occupiers use inhumane methods to extract lands from powerless, occupied people. It was sad to see the old lady cry over losing her home and hear about the vicious acts by Israeli terrorists, who destroyed her orchard. What kind of monsters are these? Why are they allowed to continue their crime spree, and why are they protected from facing a court of international law?
Thank you for posting this video, Adam. I will be sharing this with many.
I am so grateful for this video, Adam.
Many thanks to “Authors China Miéville, Gillian Slovo, Tom Warner and Omar el Khairy”.
Perhaps through their eyes and voices, the suffering and mourning of the Occupied can be finally heard by those previously blind and deaf.
Fantastic! thanks for posting I have shared with everyone I know and even those I don’t. I imagine it wont be until people of the world are able to see not just imagine the damage being carried out on a whole people, it would certainly help to get people more willing to have their say. That poor older women who was crying it was clear she has suffered it hurt me watching her.
Yes, a message to concerned Americans, and to world humanists. Keep it up!
The big question is; when will ‘we’ end this? What will it take for ‘us’ to do something about these hideous atrocities and make it stop?
