While most Israelis I spoke to in Jerusalem’s Zion Square about the upcoming US presidential election disparaged Bernie Sanders, they spoke fondly of Donald Trump.
Trump’s brash speaking style resonated with them, and few seemed phased by his statements that he would be neutral on Israel/Palestine. Those who did preferred Ted Cruz, the Texas senator who has promised to be more pro-Israel than any other candidate.
Almost no one mentioned Hillary Clinton, despite her Netanyahu-like speech at the recent AIPAC convention.
Trump’s Muslim ban and Cruz’s proposal to have police patrol “Muslim neighborhoods” were popular, and a few suggested that the United States could employ Israeli tactics against Muslims.
So what was the specific question put to all these responders?
Regarding those last two women, how can Trump be good for Israel, but bad for the world? Israel IS the world!
ISRAEL ÜBER ALLES!!!
Whoohoo!

I guess Israel is not lacking in misguided idiots too.
Edited responses (you don’t hear the question), from marginally informed foreigners who don’t always know enough English to clearly express themselves.
Thanks, Dan.
