Ontarians must stand up to antisemitism and all instances of racism and discrimination wherever they appear, but the IHRA definition is flawed and, at worst, limits society’s ability to fight oppression in all is forms.
Officials at the Department of Education have confirmed that they’re moving forward with an investigation into alleged antisemitism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered today to Israel two parting gifts of inestimable value on his farewell tour of the Middle East, the importance of which go well beyond his visit to the illegal Israeli colony of Psagot in the Palestinian West Bank. His last-minute moves to further legitimatize Israeli annexation, and delegitimatize opposition to Israel’s apartheid rule over the Palestinian people, will be difficult for the incoming Biden administration to reverse.
Netanyahu knows that expanding settlements “early” in the Biden administration is “red flag” so he’ll hold off to avoid a “confrontation,” says David Harris of the American Jewish Committee. But he would not avoid that confrontation if Biden has any thought of returning to the Iran deal, predicts the Israel lobbyist.
A group of Republicans senators led by Arkansas’ Tom Cotton are urging the Trump administration to label West Bank goods as “Made in Israel.” A letter sent to Trump by the lawmakers was obtained by Axios. “This decision would support Israel and push back against anti-Semitism and the BDS movement,” it states.

The Joint List is one of the main obstacles to Benjamin Netanyahu’s political survival, and he will do whatever it takes to bring the alliance down. Surprisingly, he might have the help of one of its members to do so.
Trump is trying to tie Biden’s hands against returning to Iran deal with “spider web” of sanctions that Democratic hawks won’t reverse, says Sina Toossi of National Iranian American Council. And Israel may take it into its own hands to try to kill the deal in the transition period. “I’m worried that Israel and Saudi Arabia might view the rhetoric from the Trump administration as a green light for Israel to launch a strike on Iran,” Toossi says.
PA officials announced on Tuesday that they received assurances that Israel was “committed” to upholding its end of agreements with the Palestinians, and that the decision to resume coordination was made following “international talks” being conducted by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. There is speculation that the impending change in U.S. administrations, along with the severe financial pressure the Palestinian Authority finds itself under, is what motivated Palestinian leadership to resume relations with Israel.
