Northeastern University panel on Americans emerging from COVID trauma elevates Israeli militarism under “existential threat” as key to the “startup nation” — yet another sign of the extent to which Israeli hasbara, or propaganda, is routinely put forward in leading American institutions as a guide to American thinking and policy. Israeli soldiers are the heroes in this discourse — and Palestinians are the shadowy terrorists.

A California judge recently threw out a lawsuit launched by a former Israeli solider which attempted to apply Israeli defamation law against Palestinian activist Suhair Nafal. Nafal’s attorney says the attempt to introduce Israeli law into a U.S. courtroom was truly unprecedented. “This was not a lawsuit against Suhair,” he told Mondoweiss. “This was a lawsuit from Israel against all activists.”

The Trump administration violated the Iran Deal, and Joe Biden repeatedly said he wanted to rejoin it if he ended up becoming president. But now that Biden is president, things aren’t so clear.

Every year, workplaces in Israel distribute thousands of flowers to show their appreciation for their female employees on International Women’s Day. At the same time, these workplaces give women fewer opportunities to succeed compared to men.

Joe Biden and his associates appear demonstrably incapable of exchanging the history that they know for a history on which our future may well depend. As a result, they will cling to an increasingly irrelevant past. Under the guise of correcting Trump’s failures, they will perpetuate their own.
