AIPAC is spending big to beat Cori Bush

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) spent $15 million to help secure George Latimer’s victory over Jamaal Bowman in New York and now they have their sights set on Missouri’s 1st district, where Rep. Cori Bush is facing a primary challenge from prosecutor Wesley Bell.

Bush advocated for Palestinian rights on the campaign trail in 2020, and she’s been strong on the issue as a House member, making her a consistent target of Israel lobbying groups.

Mondoweiss U.S. correspondent Michael Arria spoke to JVP Action Political Director Beth Miller about Cori Bush’s record in Congress, Wesley Bell’s politics, and how much AIPAC is spending on the race.

If the topic is the Israel lobby interfering in other countries politics, this is relevant:

Alan Duncan attacks Tory party after being cleared over antisemitism claims…A former Conservative minister has accused his party of corruption after officials admitted they launched an investigation into him over comments that were alleged to have been antisemitic, despite a lack of any formal complaint….he said: “The Conservative Friends of Israel has been doing the bidding of Netanyahu, bypassing all proper processes of government to exercise undue influence at the top of government.”…At a press conference in central London, Duncan went on to repeat his accusation that his party remained unduly influenced by people lobbying on behalf of the Israeli government.
