Israeli soldiers shot a Palestinian child in the head with live ammunition yesterday during a protest against settlement expansion in the West Bank town of Kafr Qaddum, Palestine. Abdul Rahman Yasser Shteiwi, 10, was rushed to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus at around 3pm and was operated on immediately. Today, doctors told ISM that a scan of the boy’s brain showed over 100 bullet fragments lodged in his head.
Israeli security forces today arrested a Palestinian mother from the occupied East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-‘Issawiya, reportedly to pressure her son, Mahmoud Ebeid, to hand himself over to the police, according to the Jerusalem-based Wadi Hileh Information Center (WHIC).
Israeli soldiers and police invaded Issawiya in occupied East Jerusalem Thursday night, killing Mohammad Obeid, 21, and injuring many other Palestinians, in addition to imposing a strict siege on the town.
The Jerusalem Center of Socio and Economic Rights warned of the escalation of Israeli demolitions in occupied Jerusalem, noting it bears the nature of a collective form of punishment. The targeted neighborhoods are Qalandia, Sur Baher, Silwan and al-Bustan, and dozens of houses near Israel’s separation wall.
The Palestinian Center for Human Rights reports on the Gaza protests: “On Friday, 14 June 2019, in excessive use of force against peaceful protesters on the 61st Friday of the Great March of Return and Breaking the Siege, Israeli forces wounded 92 Palestinian civilians.”
Palestinian cyclist Alaa al-Dali, who was maimed by an Israeli sniper in the Gaza protests last year, has vowed to continue his competitive career as a para-cyclist, Al Jazeera reports. Israeli onslaughts in the last ten years have produced 130,000 disabled people in the Gaza Strip.
On Friday a group of Palestinians climbed a fence outside Bethlehem so as to enter Jerusalem for prayers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque when Israeli soldiers fired on them. One both Abdullah Gheith, 16, was killed, while a second youth was seriously injured.

A Palestinian family has denounced a plea deal to clear an Israeli settler from murder charges in a 2015 arson attack in which a Palestinian baby and his parents were burned alive in the occupied West Bank, Al Jazeera reports.
