The Trump administration has imprisoned several students over their activism for Palestine. While many of their names are known to us, one Columbia University student’s story has gone underreported. Her name is Leqaa Kordia, and this is her story.

In a blow to the White House, a federal appeals court ruled that Tufts student Rümeysa Öztürk must be transferred from Louisiana to Vermont. It was just one of several legal setbacks for the Trump administration in recent days.

“Rather than silence dissent, the government’s actions have only emboldened voices demanding that basic rights be respected here, in Palestine, and beyond,” says CUNY CLEAR attorney Mudassar Toppa.
