Support for Israel is plummeting among the U.S. public, but Zionism dominates mainstream media more than ever. Several recent high-profile examples show the staggering disconnect between the media establishment and its viewers.
The New York Times and the rest of the U.S. mainstream media downplayed, covered up, and even ignored the historic ICJ opinion declaring the Israeli occupation illegal.
The heroes of “60 Minutes” report on Israeli protests were reservists refusing to serve. “If you want pilots to be able to fly and shoot bombs and missiles into houses knowing they might be killing children, they must have the strongest confidence in the people making those decisions,” says a helicopter pilot.
Despite “60 Minutes” pipedream report on the Palestinian city of Rawabi, the development has only 5,000 residents, out of a planned 40,000. And nearby in four Israeli settlements, almost 200,000 Israeli settlers live comfortably, yet illegally, on stolen Palestinian land.
