As the siege of Shu’fat refugee camp enters its fourth day, Palestinians there have launched a massive civil disobedience campaign to oppose Israel’s policy of collective punishment.
An Israeli siege of Shu’fat refugee camp in the West Bank is entering its third day as Israel conducts a manhunt to capture a Palestinian resistance fighter who killed an Israeli soldier this past weekend. Residents of the camp are running low on basic needs and supplies, including necessary medical resources, while the death toll across Palestine continues to rise. In response, the Nablus-based armed resistance group Areen al-Usud has called for strikes across the West Bank in solidarity with Shu’fat and nearby Anata, which is also facing restrictions.
Samoudi’s death comes amidst heightened escalations in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, as Israeli forces continue to crack down on Palestinian armed resistance fighters, conducting near nightly, deadly raids into Palestinian towns, cities, and refugee camps.
Israel has revived its decades-old policy of “liquidation” in an attempt to quell the rising tide of armed Palestinian resistance, adopting extra-judicial assassination.

Today, Israeli military forces invaded Jalazon refugee camp near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank and killed two young Palestinians, Basel Basbous and Khaled Anbar, while seriously injuring a third, Rafat Salameh from Birzeit.
The raids are part of the ongoing Israeli military campaign in the West Bank “Operation Break the Wave” which killed more than 125 Palestinians and injured more than 7,643 in the last nine months.
For the second consecutive day, Palestinian cities in the West Bank are shut down in a general strike as protests erupt across Ramallah, Bethlehem, Nablus, Jenin, and Hebron in response to an Israeli raid on Jenin refugee camp that killed four Palestinians and injured over 50.
Israel kills two Palestinians in 24 hours, including one resistance fighter, as confrontations also continue between Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority.
The West Bank town of Silwad has long been considered one of the most intense points of confrontation with the Israeli military, even in periods of relative calm. The town’s unbroken tradition of resistance has recently intensified under Israeli siege since the beginning of August, as Silwad’s youth remains determined to defend the village against the army whether by rifle or stone.
