The Israeli authorities have cancelled all family visits for Palestinian prisoners from Gaza held in Israeli jails until further notice. The move comes as the latest measure to sanction the Strip, following a ban on commercial trade and limits in exit permits.
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has reported that Mo’men Fathi al-Hams, 17, died, on Saturday morning, from serious wounds he suffered by Israeli army fire on Friday. In addition to two other killings Friday, one of a child, the death toll for the Great Return March is now 155.
AFP reports Gaza medical clinics serving low-income families and refugees are already shutting down services and bracing for full closures following President Donald Trump’s decision to suspend aid to Palestinians.
An indirect ceasefire was reached between Hamas and Israel on Friday night, following extensive Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip, and the killing of four Palestinian fighters and one soldier. Hamas spokesperson said that “through Egyptian, and international mediation, a ceasefire understanding was reached between the occupation and the resistance.”
Earlier this week Israeli forces shut down the Hind Al-Husseini College, a campus for al-Quds University located in East Jerusalem near the Old City– “until further notice.”
Two Palestinian minors were killed and over 200 wounded by Israeli forces during the 16th “Great March of Return” in the besieged Gaza Strip, in support of residents of Khan al-Ahmar, on Friday.
i24 reports: “The controversial scheduled demolition of a Bedouin village in a strategic area in the West Bank was pushed back on Monday after Israel’s High Court of Justice issued a temporary injunction preventing the state from carrying on with its plan to evacuate residents from the village.”
After an 11-month walk to the Palestine border, Swedish activist Benjamin Ladraa was denied entry by Israel. One reason cited was that he would visit the occupied village of Nabi Saleh, which has been resisting Israeli forces.
