As the world ushered in 2024 and demonstrators across the world called for a ceasefire, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for more than two million Palestinians to be forcibly displaced from Gaza.

Samer Abudaqa, an Al Jazeera journalist, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza and was left to bleed out for 5 hours after Israeli forces prevented ambulances from reaching him.

Al Jazeera cameraman Samer Abudaqa was killed after being hit by an Israeli airstrike. He was left to bleed out for hours after being targeted, with medics unable to reach him due to Israeli fire.
