The recent J Street national conference, which featured a keynote speaker who extolled the virtues of racial and ethnic separation, was almost enough to lead a cynical person to believe that there’s a symbiotic relationship between Israeli fascists and liberal Zionists.
Israel’s new fascist government remains to be officially seated and that should be cause for alarm because conditions in Palestine are deteriorating quickly, and elements of the incoming government thoroughly encourage violence against Palestinians.
The incoming Israeli government is by far the most right-wing and racist government in Israeli history, and that’s saying a lot. And so far the messaging from the Biden administration seems to be that its policy towards this new government will be one of benign neglect.
It seems that every day makes it harder to maintain the Palestinian exception in the American discourse when it comes to occupation, persecution, and murder– a hypocrisy we are dedicated to exposing.

This week Israel held national elections for the fifth time in three years. Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party was triumphant and will forming the next government with the help of the real winners of this latest round – the messianic, fascist Religious Zionist Party that electrified the electorate, and is terrifying Israel’s supporters in the United States.
