Humbled by RW?
When RW is offended by one word he uses this technique: "I think it would be a good effort to attempt to coin a new name for the relationship between Israel and Palestinians than 'apartheid'. 'Apartheid' was a new name to describe specific suppressive relationships in South Africa."
But when it comes to troubling but sacred words of his own people RW's recipe is to coin a new, euphemized meaning: "Zionism is the self-determination movement of the Jewish people." Strip the word of any meaning other than those people may identify as positive. Classical "integrity" at work, so he then may proceed: "There is no racism in Zionism as constructed as the self-governance movement of the Jewish people." See? Problem solved, no racism anymore! The racist now is anyone who doesn't like jewish self governance, hereby called the antisemites!
Those techniques brought us the names of ADL for the jewish thought police, AIPAC for the israeli foreign office for spying and corruption of american politicians, the new waltzerian "anomaly" for full blown jewish ethnocentrism, instead of the pure and plainer word… what's the word a person of integrity like RW would use for it? Never mind, Klaus has shown some people live in a moral universe apart.
Integrity
=============
The rage of Saif and of a similar man, Mazin Qumsiyeh are just not the right recipe. And there are many more of these cold war era warriors in the USA.
This is a blame industry.
Integrity would mean to develop a constructive Palestinian society for its own benefit, in an area available to it. West Bank and Gaza, East Jerusalem, Old City.
A brave Palestinian leadership has no chance to act independently now, while the Saudi and Iranian support pours in for the Islamic Hamas actions.
The German Landsman associations were very stubborn about recovering the Silesian and the East-Prussian territories.
The Palestinian pain can be the past when the Israeli and Palestinian moderates have a chance to end the century old war.
I am awed by Mr. Witty. He is a great man.
