Adelson Again. The Culture’s Double Standard for Christian and Jewish Right-Wing Moguls

This Mother Jones piece on the new J Street lobby says that its $1.5 million budget  is up against a Goliath in $100 million Aipac, whose new headquarters in Washington was funded by Sheldon Adelson, according to unnamed "sources."

Adelson again. It is astonishing to me that the Washington Post would profile Adelson and the New York Times could publish a piece on Freedom's Watch, Adelson's big political cause in the U.S., and both papers all but ignored his pro-Israel activities.

Adelson is an important man; and his activities are not being covered outside of Haaretz (which has also chronicled Adelson's fascinating family: his wife is a Holocaust survivor and (obviously compassionate) therapist, one son died of a drug overdose, his other son is said to be an addict who doesn't speak to him). When I was a young journalist,  I remember the liberal outrage over Richard Mellon Scaife, the conservative publisher in Western Pennsylvania, who used his money to fund rightwing foundations and initiatives.  Boy did we work against him! And think of the ad nauseum coverage we get about political religious figures like the late Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, who are despised in blue-state America as a result... This is a double standard in the press, and of course it only touches on the most explosive issues in the world: the so-called war on terrorism, which Adelson wishes to sustain and extend unto the blazing horizon. God help us. The journalists won't.

    From the linked Haaretz article:

"Around this time [Miriam Adelson] met Dan Raviv, then a reporter for Israel TV, who would later become the PR man in charge of the worldwide positioning of the Adelson Group."

I did a double-take on that. Dan Raviv is a journalist with CBS News.

Either there are TWO Dan Ravivs — both with a background in broadcast journalism, both having lived in Israel — or else it's one hyperactive guy, juggling PR and reporting duties for two masters.

Dan Raviv and Yossi Melman on USS Liberty: Israeli authors Dan Raviv and Yossi Melman argue (contrary to most Israeli accounts) that the Israelis saw the American flag on the ship but attacked anyway.

  3. MRW. says:

Adelson is surrounded by 6 to 8 ex-Mossad bodyguards at all times. Anyone who goes against him, according to his definition of it, is dealt with.

The left-liberal media obviously will tolerate right-wing Jewish moguls influencing public policy, but not gentile ones like Scaife. Why is this so? It is because Jewish moguls are generally only right wing when it comes to Israel, and are reliably subversive, liberal and libertine when it comes to America. Look how Adelson made his billions — by pimping gambling to Americans. Would he ever pimp gambling to his precious Jewish Zionists in Israel? Highly doubtful. It’s okay to turn America into a whorehouse, though.

Jews like Adelson and his left-liberal media allies are sucking the lifeblood from America and, in Adelson's case, transferring it to Zionism and Israel. True, a percentage of non-Zionist left-liberals may have different political motives for bringing America low, but they certainly learned much of their subversiveness and tactics from gentile-hating Jews, which is why they give Jews like Adelson a pass.

America is being destroyed by the primacy of the two worst traits of the bi-polar US political system: degeneracy on the left, and money worship on the right. Jews like Adelson are a combination of those despicable characteristics.

    Habibi,

Mira Adelson (aka Dr. Miriam Adelson)is my cousin.

A wonderful and a brilliant woman and physician.

She is not, I assure you, a "Holocaust survivor," and was born in Tel Aviv.

Both mother and her father, Simcha Farbstein and Menucha (Samelsohn) Farbstein were olim, arriving from NE Poland shortly before the outbreak of war. The family is heroic, patriotic, and many were its losses, and this is attested on the door of the new Museum of Holocaust Art at Yad Vashem, funded by the Adelsons; it is inscribed in memory of those members of the Samelsohn and Farbstein families fallen in the Shoa.
