Here is a story about 15 settlers attacking three Palestinian shepherds and injuring two donkeys, killing one of them, near At-Tuwani in the South Hebron hills. I can't watch the video, can you? This is simply disgusting, and the fact that supporting the settlements was a winning campaign issue for Bill Clinton in '92 is all you need to know about American foreign policy in the Mideast. Also, what is the Israeli response? Surely condemnation and an investigation. But the original crime and the continuing crime, unaddressed: ethnic cleansing. It is, for many in Israel, policy. And we are complicit. These images are going out all over the Arab world.

My how biblical. I can imagine Hitite goatherders and Hebrew shepards carrying on such battles 2500 years ago. Grazing land was valuable in those days.
What I have trouble understanding is why the US is committing its military to fight in these tribal wars. We are spending over one trillion dollars in Iraq — does anyone have any idea how many donkeys we could purchase for that much money?
Sorry, but that donkey's cousin once carried Osama's brother's second best friend across the Pamirs – he's fair game in the GWOT. A terrorist sympathising donkey is no loss.
How low can they go? You almost want it to continue so that you can test your jaw's lower limit. Why isn't there some movement for an international force to shift these 'deadenders'?
You need to understand that this is psychological warfare. The message the settler organisations are sending is that it amuses them to cause public outrage, because they know, and the outraged ones should know soon too, that there is absolutely no way in which they can be prevented from doing whatever the hell they like: if they slit the throat of an Arab boy on TV, nothing would happen, except a hypocritical show trial, with lots of settlers picketing it and getting even more lovely free publicity.
Unrelated to the post, I have awarded Mondoweiss a Best Blog Darts Thinking Award.
There's NOTHING there. No attack. No proof of "settlers." Narration, captions. Some people, then a donkey. But if you want to shit on "settlers," I suppose that's all you need.

Candidate for U.S. security adviser wants NATO force in West Bank
By Aluf Benn

General James Jones, whom U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is widely expected to tap as his national security adviser, supports the deployment of an international force in the West Bank instead of the Israel Defense Forces. He also opposes Israel's demand to retain extensive security control over the territories even after a Palestinian state is established…..
ENTIRE ARTICLE:
That's right Not Gullible. And the Holy Coast(tm)? Totally staged.
I heard General Jones's critique of the situation in Iraq was devastating, and was turned over to the Bush Admin, receipt acknowledged. No press follow up I am aware of at this time.
Also heard he did a similar cold-eyed critique of the P-I situation, which was also turned over to the Bush Admin, but no receipt acknowledged.
Could not find any mention of the national origin of these 'settlers.' Probably many are American. The US should defend Palestinians as vigorously and with as much deadly force as they did the Northen Alliance soldiers in Afghanistan.
Tommy this may enlighten you:
No crime is shown here. No rocks thrown, no one "stealing" a donkey, no one killing a donkey.
BTW-regarding national origins, please remind me of what the national origin or religion of those who carried out the 9/11 attacks, the 7/7 attacks in London and the massacre on the Madrid trains.

The claimed national/religious origins or the actual ones?
As it appears these actions were false flag attacks, not enough has been done to identify the origins or motivations of the attackers.
