Hagel, YES!
(I wish Jack Ross would explain his misgivings about Susan Rice. I'm not too familiar with her.)
Excluding the likes of Holbrooke and Ross, Rice is the closest to Clinton-style interventionism. I saw a foreign policy panel at the Democratic convention on C-SPAN where she was hysterical about Georgia, Gary Hart spoke strongly against the hysteria and is apparently co-chairing a report with Hagel on the future of Russia relations, with Anthony Lake frantically trying to establish middle ground. I think Lake will be Richardson's #2 and the article confirms my hunch that Rice is in line for UN Ambassador.
P.S. I'm no relation to Dennis, but he does go to the shul where I grew up in Maryland.

Richardson, Hagel, and Zinni would certainly be a less dubious bunch than I have expected.
