Woman Who Won Nobel for Settling Religious Differences in N. Ireland Calls on U.N. to Suspend Israel

Only in the Jerusalem Post: An Irish Nobel Prize winner who ran the blockade to visit Gaza has called upon the UN to "suspend or revoke Israel's membership."

[Mairead] Maguire
says Israel should be punished for ignoring a series of United Nations
resolutions over the years. Maguire won the 1976 peace prize for her
work with Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland.

She is visiting the Palestinian territories to protest Israel's
blockade of the Gaza Strip. Israel virtually sealed off the territories
after the Hamas took over there in 2007.

Why isn't this in our press? Wonder how Americans would feel about it.

  1. Michael W says:

I heard somewhere that more people died after she won the Nobel Peace prize. Didn't this issue get resolved only recently?

  2. Paul Malfara says:

    Well, gee Michael,

You "heard somewhere" that more people died after she won the Nobel Prize.

I guess that means that you've pretty much discredited this woman entirely, haven't you.

    What's your point?

The people in the three little boats, many of them with high credentials, would bring up too many issues for mass attention
that the Israel-Firsters want left out of the press.

  4. Eva Smagacz says:

So far the media are absolutely silent on the boats going between Gaza port and Cyprus. Boats are chock-a-block with european parlamentarians, and yet european press is simply not picking up the story.

    I wander why?

  5. observer says:

Must be your Polish mental block, Eva.

One of the little boats was named the Liberty–after the USS Liberty.

    Just kidding.
