Having achieved nothing but slaughter and elevating Hamas, the Israeli political backlash now begins

I wonder how the pointlessness of the war (Times of London link to the finger-pointing beginning in Israel) fits into Michael Walzer's just war theory? And what does its pointlessness do for advocates Tom Friedman and Jeffrey Goldberg, who trumpeted the thing, not remembering their mistaken judgment on Iraq? I believe the Gaza disaster, thoroughly predictable, as Iraq was, will actually help marginalize these guys, and raise J Street.  This war also underscores Mike Desch's analysis in Power and Military Effectiveness: The Fallacy of Democratic Triumphalism-- Israel's robust democracy is no bar against the most boneheaded strategic decisions.                                   --Phil Weiss

The pointlessness just makes me feel empty inside. All this agony, death, and destruction for *nothing*.

U starve mine, or kill them. I do the same. 10 eyes for an eye so long as American goys can be fooled. Simple. The usual ignorance but coupled with American free spirit and sense of equality. The Jews cannot lose–so long as they can keep facts from the American goys. So far, they are doing great, mostly because of what it costs to be a part of USA government. Rich jews. All bow before them–but some day, someone will not. He or she will be the next major figure in human history. IT takes much more to be such a person, much more than either a Jew in the Jew group, or a goy in the goy group
shining shoes for jews for more more money…

Thx, MRW. I tried to find the site I stole it from to give credit where credit is due, but am coming up empty.

I think they really came up with a gem.
