If only this signaled a change in the editorial direction of the NYT…

Personally, I find Friedman more objectional–he has many of the same formulations as Kristol, but he's viewed as "thoughtful" and "non-ideological".

  2. Doppler says:

I agree with CLW. Friedman lost me when he justified going to war in Iraq by saying we just needed to hit someone in the face.

  3. Rowan says:

I still love the gossip about Krystol "shaking the pom-poms" for Sarah Palin, which I think was part of a very clever strategy on the part of the so-called "neo-cons" to ensure that Obama did not lose the election.

  4. Nancy O says:

LOL. Imagine if Krystol, carrying his pom-poms, met Palin's hubby in a dark alley. Why not? Imagine IDF handsome soldiers as rodents.
In the deep of our psyches, we all know what we are. Lucky, most people are not deep; can be easily seduced. Take a gander at that IDF these days. Compare what you see with the US troops. It's like day and night, in a reverse MAUS book. The twist is, the US troops are literally poor dupes, the IDF troops at least belong to the same tribe, and have that as condolence, however meagre that is…
