30 student occupations in UK are having an effect

Bds
This is from the University of Plymouth student blog in England. They say there are 30+ "occupied universities" in the UK. AFter 4 days of occupation, Plymouth students say the university has agreed on Palestinian scholarship, aid to Gaza, and a discussion with students about divestment, including the "on-campus boycott of Israeli goods."
Meantime a Welsh school, Cardiff University, has agreed following a 3-day student occupation to divest from two arms suppliers to Israel, BAe and an arm of GE.

I hope the people of Palestine gain some small measure of hope and encouragement that this small groundswell of support may turn into a flood.

They've been remarkly resilient even without much of any international support of note (and by that I mean support that actually gets noticed in the halls of world power).

  2. Richard Witty says:

Aid is good. Divestment is idiotic.

The failure to comment on Hamas' actions leading up to the escalation is worse than idiotic.

Yes, israel should be shunned at every conceivable level
60 Years of diplomacy has resulted in more and more land grabs, whether the Palestinans resist (which is their right) occupation non violently or violently.
For Milband to stand up and say Israel is a beacon of democracy in the middle east whilst Israel slaughtered women and children in their hundreds is a sign of how ingrained Israel is within British Politics, Britains banking system, and its cultural fields.
    Enough is Enough

Fred, this is what you are defending. This is what you are advocating. These are the people you are defending. This is what they did:

Jerusalem—-May 2….Palestinian terrorists murdered 4 young Jewish children and their pregnant mother this afternoon. The terror attack targeted the family vehicle while it was traveling on the road that leads to the Gaza Strip settlement bloc of Gush Katif.

Another Israeli civilian traveling in a separate car suffered moderate gunfire wounds in the attack near the Netzer Hazani settlement.

The terrorists arrived by car from the nearby Palestinian village of Dir al Ballah and began to fire at passing Israeli vehicles, consequently killing the mother and her four children. Another Israeli traveling in the opposite direction, was also wounded.

After spraying the station wagen with bullets, the Palestinian terrorists walked up to the 4 terrified little girls and shot each one of them twice in the head, police said. The 8-month-old pregnant mother was shot in her belly at point blank range as she tried to cover her children

The victims of the attack were identified as Tali Hatuel, 34, and her daughters Hila (11), Hadar (9), Roni (7) and Merav (2). Tali's husband was not in the car at the time of the attack, ynet reported. The Hatuels lived on the Gush Katif settlement of Katif.

chris is equating a a few pinpricks cause by a few stray pins when the pin cushion was grabbed and squeezed with being squeezed rhythmically by a python.

  6. chris berel says:

The deliberate cold blooded murder of a pregannt mother and her four daughters is a pinprick to Citizen.

    How are things in Shitland?

    Get many pinpricks like this?

After spraying the station wagen with bullets, the Palestinian terrorists walked up to the 4 terrified little girls and shot each one of them twice in the head, police said. The 8-month-old pregnant mother was shot in her belly at point blank range as she tried to cover her children.

    Just a Pinprick to Citizen.

  7. Jim Haygood says:

I deeply and sincerely hope that such an insignificant pinprick happens to Citizen, his wife, and most especially, his children.

  8. chris berel says:

Now, now, Jim. No sense wishing the same fate onto our avowed enemies, even if those enemies are blood thirsty assholes.

  9. LeaNder says:

    The 8-month-old pregnant mother

    That's amazing.

  10. LeaNder says:

another supportive message from a spoofed "Jim Haygood". Obviously this is to stem the feeling of consent on this list. Make it appear as if former critics have surrendered under the pressure of "evidence".

  11. RABBI kook says:

That was SOG as is his custom lately of mostly posting in the name of Jim Haygood when he has a senile lapse and forgets the other real IDs he steals, also as his custom.

Nows that you hasbara agents have delved into the stray pin pricks, how about addressing the rest of the comparative metaphor furnished by Citizen, especially the cyclical cobra's squeezing; after that you can also address the squeezing of the harmless pin cushion to normal users.

  12. Chris Berel says:

    LeaNder – What is amazing?

And why does kook's head look like a squeezed pimple?
