Steve Clemons says the thrashing of the anti-Freemanites reveals the weakness of the lobby:

Perhaps this is blowback from the extremely unwise public comment by Olmert claiming to have caused Bush to order a Security Council vote changed.

I see this as the long-awaited Twilight of the Neocons. Freeman is the perfect Anti-Neocon. A number of strong Neocon voices went very public in their efforts to derail him, very explicitly stating their litmus tests, which Freeman absolutely does not meet, and to no avail. Now we have Clinton demanding that Israel expedite relief to Gaza, and Israeli voices seek to mount a similarly tin-eared attack on her for daring to notice their bad behavior. Blocking delivery of pasta. "How long, Lord? Not long." "But Daddy, he doesn't have any clothes on."
I've been reading a little bit more of Freeman's writings, and it's not only on Israel that he appeals to me. He strikes a very anti-imperialist tone in general. Don't get me wrong, he's no pacifist, but it's a welcome change from the usual militant crap we hear coming out of Washington. He's also very straightforward – the polar opposite of Dennis Ross.

The Judo-zios, who use "Jewish" for everything they do and whose reason for being is the "Jewish State", are saying how dare she bring religion into state affairs…and how dare the US let itself be influenced by any ethnic or religious group!…..ROTFLMAO.

Steve Clemons' piece is probably the best — and the final word on the Chas Freeman appointment. I'm stunned, however, that Steve Rosen has any juice left in DC. If he's under indictment for allegedly espionage against the US, shouldn't he be in jail with convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard instead of piping out screeds against gifted government servants of the pedigree of Freeman?

AIPAC has been outed as a serious instrument of treason against the interests of the United States of America. AIPAC managed to get two dozen dual Israeli/American citizens into positions of influence in the Bush administration. Right now, all they have is "Israeli's lawyer" Dennis Ross, who appears to have a severely watered-down brief. the more AIPAC howls and attacks Hillary and the "evenhandedness" of the reinvigored peace process, the more the interests of The Lobby are exposed to be against the interests of American's whose taxpayer dollars funded Operation Kill Kids.
