Derry in Northern Ireland was ground zero for the Irish nationalist movement. Part of the city renamed itself Free Derry in the late 60s. Lately it has become a center for pro-Palestinian feeling. Here are two recent photos from the city, sent along by a friend, demonstrating the sentiment.

St. Patrick's Day has taken on a whole new meaning for me.
God made the Irish, and the IRA made them Free.
It's the converse of the tendency among n. Ireland protestant loyalists to support British imperial ventures hither & yon, and in this respect there is a time-warp; n. Ireland protestant organisations will go on regarding all sorts of erstwhile British colonial causes that Britain itself has abandoned, such as s. Africa & 'Rhodesia,' as being allied to theirs. This leads to a right-wing hold-out mentality which is further to the right than the home administration. Ian Lustick's book "Unsettled States, Disputed Lands" gives a very sensitive and detailed account, from a Gramscian point of view, of how this has happened in previous colonial disputes.
god bless the Irish ….. big hug from Palestine people ti Irish
This actually isn't a new thing. My uncle's a big Irish Republican supporter, and he told me about the Palestinian flags in Nationalist/Republican neighborhoods at least 5 years ago. The Irish (Republicans, at least) have long had a good understanding that their struggle is wrapped up with similar ones across the world. . god bless the Irish ….. big hug from Palestine people ti Irish . Big huge right back. Falastin go bragh!
Awesome Irish-Palestinian Solidarity all the way.
Time to get as delusional as the Palestinians? Except you need several drinks first?
Absolutely no connection between the Irish and the Palestinian except terrorism.
The Irish and the Palestinians are one. Long live freedom! Check out the Stern Gang and its fellow travelers. Since they were not actual natives on the land in question, they have much less to brag about, be irate about, than the Irish.
Yes. Here's the scoop on the Stern Gang & Irgun: http://www.wrmea.com/archives/May-June_2006/06050... The Irish might be drunks, but they are not teetotaling straight racists, so who should you admire?
So you are saying that they are drunk racists?
No, the zionists are racists, pure and simple. Many are also secret drunks or, more especially, prescription drug addicts–you know, more doctors in the family due to old medieval bans?
This wolfen person is just the moronic Chris Berel again, under another pseudonym. You can tell from the slapdash way he patches together his insults, from whatever comes first into his head, without regard for logic.
