British washed their hands of responsibility for Palestine. Will Americans grow weary too?

Here's a depraved story from Haaretz: an 18-year-old Israeli Jew indicted in Nazareth for killing a Palestinian Israeli by stabbing him in the head, just because he was an Arab, and that bugged him. The Arab man tried desperately to escape through traffic.

Why give this story any attention? It's just a crazy crime. I know; you're right. But the story has a weird resonance.

It reminds me of killings during the Mandate years., the 20s through the 40s. The British couldn't control violence in Mandatory Palestine. Arabs were attacking Jews, and vice versa. The area was in a crisis of sovereignty. The British wanted out. British soldiers were getting caught in the meatgrinder too.

The intensity of the blood-hatred here, and the fact that the alleged killer is evidently a Russian Jew (Vitaly Sayenko), makes me wonder whether We haven't become the new Mandate authorities in Israel-- the United States/western Jewry/the lobby-- with the same responsibility for the situation as the Brits had. And makes me wonder how long before we get sick of this whole deal.

(Thanks to Rob Browne for the tip.)

The Brits were trying to get rid of the Jews By 1910. But out of England. At least the aristocrats were. (They knew about The Young Turks and the Armenians, and were watching the same thing arising in Russia, and how they could become a problem in GB.) That's why they were more than happy to have Balfour write a letter In 1917. They thought maybe Rothschild would leave too and drag them all with him.

  2. Strahl says:

I don't think it's the same because the Palestinians are much more peaceful/passive than the Jews were in Mandate Palestine. Just compare the atrocities. And after of decades of Israeli Jews dominating an entire other people the relationship has become that of Master to Slave. And the racism exhibited by Jewish Zionists and tribal Jews is typical colonial racism. I condemn the racism of Palestinian Arabs towards Jews but it's not of the same origin now and it's much more understandable. Finkelstein has echoed that same notion. If you're being dominated by Jews and seeing them get away with crime after crime/stealing your land and even your water/etc. then yea you'll end up hating them. On the other side, Jews live so much better. So much more privileged and are protected culturally/economically/militarily by 'the West'. It's essentially the opposite for Arabs who want self-determination. What we have is a political entity that serves the interests of a minority of people (the tribal Jews and Jewish Establishment/the MIC/etc.) and a legion of goons (the US Army) who will just follow orders. The Brits had much more incentive to leave. We want to dominate the entire region so it's not only incentive but it's the entire point of us being there. Israel is a manifestation of our will over the Arab people. They are like our hitman in the region.

  3. Eva Smagacz says:

This is an argument for not leaving the area politically as it is, because it is only a matter of time that the Israel will evolve the law of a "blood money" or a fine for killing a goat, an ass or an Arab. The prevailing punishment of a suspended sentence is, after all, already half way there.

  4. Koshiro says:

Ain't happening. At least not soon. Because Islam isn't going away, and because this is the core conflict between a Western country (or so they say) and the Muslim world, Americans and Europeans won't have the luxury of filing it away as irrelevant. If anything, the problem will be more pressing in the near future.

Somebody should give that a thumbs up (I would but I can't)….

  6. Craig says:

FUCK PHILLIP WEISS & his proxies!!!! This asshole is sending spam to my email because he doesn't agree with my comments. It began recently with an email that I NEVER give out, except when posting on this website. I'm glad you live right here in NYC, I'm contacting the police today and you will be dealt with for these crimes!

  7. David_F says:

Do you really think Phil *sends* spam to people he disagrees with? I think it's a lot more likely that a spambot grabbed your email from typepad, or even more likely your email was discovered by random address generation.

  8. thedhimmi says:

Absurd comparison. We have no troops in Israel and don't administer the area. The British to deal with Arab riots and the eventual Zionist response to those attacks.

  9. Citizen says:

No our troops are in Iraq and we pay Israel to "administer the area." The comparison is not perfect, but it's not irrelevant either. Similarly the analogy to apartheid S Africa. The USA certainly is responsible; at the very least as the key aider and abettor.

  10. Big Bill says:

It is impossible to live a first world life as a minority ethnic in a country filled with third worlders without having massive conflict. I weep for my European gentile grandchildren who will in time become the hated first world minority in my own homeland, America. Demographics is destiny.

Talk about paranoid Craig, are you the same Craig that has participated on Iraqi Mojo's blog..?

  13. Richard WittyI says:

The US is not an occupier. Britain, following its near bankruptcy after the war, could not possibly fuflill its colonial (good and bad) relationships. The US role in the world is likely to remain indefinitely. Its a necessity to secure the supply chain for oil, reluctantly but addictively. And, its commerce is entirely interwoven globally. The only significant change in the degree of US involvement with the world and with Israel, will occur if there is a global CALAMITY, and extreme. The only relevant question is HOW the US will be involved in Israel and the world.

  14. Shafiq says:

But it's not. First of all Israel isn't a Western Country and secondly this isn't about the Muslim world, it's about the Palestinians and only the Palestinians. Most pro-Israelis have tried to tie this whole conflict into the wider 'War on Terror', to try and gain the support of neutral observers – we hear the usual bullshit about Israel being an outpost of civilisation against the barbaric Arab Islamist terrorists. We see them using the same vocabulary over and over again, Islamists, Islamo-Fascists, usually with the odd insult to Muslims. If people see the conflict for what it really is, a colonial outpost desperately trying to maintain relevance in a post-colonial world, Israel would be ruined.

  15. MRW says:

I'd be far more likely to believe that you are a hasbara nutcase obeying extremist tribal connections to discredit Phil. Everyone knows that the hasbara onions have 101% access to our phone and email records. Fox, surprisingly, has one of the best series on it. Naturally It was wiped off the web within three days of final broadcast, but preserved here: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article7... (Part 1) Remaining three parts accessible from this link. And BTW, dont abscond with our friend Craig's moniker any more. Piss off.

  16. MRW says:

Two things. Now I know you are incapable of reading for content. Two, you dont bother to read history. Uninformed. Woefully so. Stupid, even.

  17. MRW says:

Then your gentile grandchildren are idiots if they can't get along. And you are to blame for their attitudes. World has changed, dude. You want to curry hate as a national past-time? Go ahead. You'll be leading that putsch alone. None of us white people in the USA, whose tax dollars support Israel unreasonably, could give a shit anymore. Fuck off you small-minded ape.

  18. atheo says:

What a silly expression of Zionist orriented US exceptionalism! According to R.Witty, global commerce will fail without US "security". I guess that the interested parties are all just too inferior to manage on their own, eh? What conceit! Typical blathering about oil being "addictive" is thrown in for good measure. Zionist redirection from WARS FOR ISRAEL.

  19. Marion says:

Richard, There has never been an empire in history that has lasted indefinitely, and we would be doing ourselves and our country a favor by understanding the lessons of history, instead of thinking we are somehow exceptionally different than the other fallen empires…

  21. Ed says:

"We want to dominate the entire region so it's not only incentive but it's the entire point of us being there. Israel is a manifestation of our will over the Arab people. They are like our hitman in the region." That's Chomsky's argument, that the Israel lobby isn't driving the blank check coming from the US, but American Empire is. I disagree, as Israel is actually a liability for American Empire, because it unnecessarily antagonizes Muslims against the US. Also, we never would have invaded Iraq but for political Judaism's agititation, influence, and organization towards massive US Mideast “intervention,” (even if some oil imperialists and war profiteering corporatists also might have wanted to.)

  22. Ed says:

The Israel lobby and its operatives are really the difference between an obnoxious empire and a malicious, blatantly racist one. Prior to the Iraq war, American Empire's naked aggression was relatively small potatoes; Iraq took it to a whole new level. Chomsky and many left-wing Jews like him simply don't want to face up to the malicious nature and power of political Judaism. Xymphora actually thinks Chomsky is a closet Jewish Zionist operative, although I don't agree with that. But some very smart Lefties aren’t even conscious of who or what they’re working towards. It’s Lefties, with their fantasies of epic, global social engineering projects, that also contributed to the kind of mentality that led to the Iraq invasion, right along with Right Statist corporatists.

  23. Richard WittyI says:

The US is involved independant of being called an empire. Maybe in four hundred years there won't be a US. Certainly, things WILL change in the world. A large shift will be the change in pricing and relevance of fossil fuels, regardless of Atheo's "prophetic" approach.

  24. Koshiro says:

This isn't about the "War on Terror", it's about international relations. And, whether we like it or not, Israel acts as a proxy for the "West". Israel's ongoing occupation and oppression of Arab Muslims will continue to put the Arab/Muslim countries at odds with the West.

  25. Ed says:

I agree that we should all work to get along. But the Left stirs up racial hatred against whites by pounding away at the “white guilt” meme, in a hasbara tactic bequeathed to the Left by bitter Jewish authoritarians who were important to formulating Leftist and Communist doctrine. This is then “matched” by white-identity movements in the same what that Communism was “matched” by Nazism. So long as cynical and grasping Statists are allowed to play the race card on either side, we never will get along. In fact, the conflict is by design.

  26. Todd says:

I see no reason to not treat all decent people respectfully, but it is naive to believe that whites shouldn't be concerned about demographics when there is a definite attempt to marginalize whites as a group . Why make the "putsch" comment? Is there a reason to believe that Jim is a Nazi of some sort? And the world hasn't changed! Maybe the people in charge have changed, but people haven't changed. My guess is that is what has Jim upset. Jim may go against conventional wisdom in egards to race, religion, ethnicity or culture in regards to what is acceptable for white Christians to voice, but there is nothing idiotic in his post.

  27. Todd says:

Will Americans grow weary of those within America who push Israel's interests? That's the question. Israelis aren't the problem! The problem for Americans is their fellow Americans who are the brains, fincancial, media and political muscle that demands support from the majority. Israel is just a sideshow.

  28. Todd says:

    Replace Jim with Bill.

  29. Laurie says:

I don't believe that is true MRW. Certainly it wasn't the gentile Brits that want the Jews to leave, but I'm sure the Zionist did. "With a renewal of persecution in Russia in 1881, there was mass immigration from Russia to England. The newcomers settled mostly in urban districts. They virtually created a clothing industry in England. They started Yiddish and Hebrew newspapers, fraternal societies and trade unions. The communal leadership encouraged their Anglicization through participation in English classes, state-aided schools and English clubs and youth movements such as the Jewish Lads Brigade. Many became integrated into the community. The Alien Immigration Act of 1905 restricted immigration, but, by 1914, about 250,000 Jews lived in England. {by 1890, all restrictions for every position in the British Empire, except that of monarch, were removed to Jews, some 46,000 of whom now lived in England.} In the early 1900s, Jews became active in both Conservative and Liberal politics. In 1909, Herbert Samuel became the first professing Jew to serve in the British cabinet. He later became high commissioner of Palestine. The 1900s The xenophobia created by World War I ended Jewish immigration to England and caused some British anti-Semitism. The war also helped many Jewish entrepreneurs, however, by creating a demand for uniform clothing. About 50,000 Jews served in the British military, of that, 10,000 died as casualties and 1,596 receiving awards. Zionism began in England with the Hovevei Zion movement in 1887. The English Zionist Federation was formed in 1899. It was England’s Lord Balfour who issued the 1917 declaration officially recognizing Jewish aspirations to a homeland. Israel’s first president, Chaim Weizmann, was also British. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/this-britain...

  30. David_F says:

You are right that the Left seems to go out of its way to encourage racial resentment. It took me a while to figure out why the Times appeared so ecstatic over any white crime against a non-white, (even fictitious ones like the Duke Lacrosse case and the "dragging death" in Paris, TX). If they covered the far more numerous non-white on white crimes in such a hysterical fashion, they would sound exactly like David Duke and be rightly condemned for promoting racism. I'd also like to point out that the best organized and most effective white-interest organizations (i.e. American Renaissance, Vdare) are solidly in the hands of paleoconservatives, not neo-Nazis. They've focused their efforts on goals with ample US precedent: equal treatment under law (i.e. end affirmative action), immigration restriction, and freedom of association.

  31. Witty's Mentor says:

Correct, and what you say here opposes what you say farther above by saying US is not an empire. Current times demand the US not be an empire in the tactical sense of the old British one, but who can ignore the importance of the number one commodity oil for a long time yet to come? We are involved and for two reasons: control and access to oil, The Lobby. Oh, there's a third one that connects the two: Ike's military industrial (and military service) complex. Just because the tactics of Empire change in time, does not mean the overall strategy ends change. Pretty simple: exploitation of natural resources and people on the receiving end of the aggregate of "gun boat" and economic policy.

  32. Citizen says:

Yeah, it's all true. Next in line to be milked is Russia, China, India–Israel is already acting to get fresh support, the next line of cash cows for Israel and "Jewish continuity." Methinks it might be a dab harder since most of those countries are not drained by "white goy guilt."

  33. Citizen says:

Probably not, because America (USA) is already intentionally divided by identity politics. Diversity and Multiculturalism tear at any sense of being united as Americans. Israel Firsters are singularly focused. Their goal is always to get done what they think needs be done in the best interest of Jewish continuity, now assured in their opinion by the state of Israel. I can't see Americans as a whole grow weary unless the push for war on Iran combines with the drain of the two wars the US has going on now in combination with the fact that Obama's stimulus agenda will fail, not least because China is not buying the printing of all those dollars and is seeking to get off the dollar standard, as is Russia and some smaller Asian countries. Oh, and I forgot the biggest possibility. If the US bombs Iran or supports Israel in doing so, I think what will follow is the need to call for a Military Draft–no war turns out the way one expects when initiating that venture.

  34. atheo says:

The fallacy of the 'war for oil' meme is belied by the fact that control of production is not needed for intervention in oil distribution. That goal could be easily accomplished through the inexpensive utilization of naval power (of which the US has plenty). Witty may be correct that oil's relevance will be much diminished in four centuries, but that has no bearing on his stated thesis. Witty seems to be using the oil meme as a means of ignoring or denying the power of the Israel lobby.

  35. Eurosabra says:

Britain was diligent in restricting Jewish immigration and settlement, making sure that Jews died wherever German Nazis and Arab Nazis had the upper hand. Unfortunately, the economic conditions of the post-war period did not allow the continuation of this policy, despite the cancellation of the Palestine Pound, the freezing of Palestinian-Jewish assets in Britain, and the actual intervention of the RAF on the Egyptian side during the 1948 war. The British tried to give the Arabs a victory, and failed–at least the US is even-handed.
