Joseph Dana reports:
Just got an update from Amiel, a Ta'ayush member, who was in Safa this morning. He told me that settlers uprooted around 150 olive and grape leaf trees in Safa as a protest of our action last Saturday. Some of the grape leaf trees in the video were uprooted this morning.
The only news source covering this right now is the Palestinian Ma'an News Agency. It is telling that they are the only ones covering this blatant act of settler violence. Yesterday, in the village of Susya next to the Jewish settlement of the same name, settlers set fire to one of the main tents with people inside at four in the morning. Another act of violence only covered in the Palestinian news sources.
How can we talk about the problem of settler violence if no one reports it?

Just as Palestinian violence against Jews is routinely left unreported except in small, hardly circulated papers. Of course, just as your reported sources are highly suspect…
you are telling me that if Palestinians had uprooted olive trees in a settlement that would go unreported or if they set fire to a settler house, there would be no news coverage about it?
Jewish Zionists routinely commit legal violence against Muslim Americans: ACLU Misses Zionist Islamophobic Conspiracy?
Yeah, that's the ticket, those powerful Pals are policing every aspect of poor Israeli lives, stealing their water, blocking survival items, dividing them by walls, raining down hell from their US Apache helicopters at whim…
Ali Baba, or should I say, stupid douchebag Zionist, cite for us proof that there are Palestinian crime after Palestinian crime NOT being reported. Then tell us why it matters IF in fact your LIE happens to be true. For example, is it helping the Palestinians? Are they NOT getting butchered at a ratio of 5 to 1 and their children murdered at a ratio of 10 to 1? Are they NOT occupied? Is there land not being stolen by Jewish immigrants? Are they NOT being discriminated against in the OT AND ISRAEL? Etc. etc. You're a fucking liar.
Come on, go easy on AliBaba, can't you see his toys are all broken?
How about some reporting about how such reports get filtered out in the main stream news media. How about some writers submitting stories, and then "reporting" on the process as to how and why they are rejected. Enough of this ethnic filtering without accountability. How about some real investigative reporting into what has happened to our news media.
You conflate two issues: the desire of right-wing Israelis to deny Muslims the right to own any property in the West Bank is rightly condemned. But is that to be compared to the denial of Israelis to live on the West Bank? Why does a future Palestinian state have to be free of Jews? If Arabs can live in Israel, why can’t Jews live in Palestine? Why shouldn’t Jews be permitted to live everywhere? Making Jews, and only Jews, leave their homes is ethnic cleansing. Isn’t this exactly what Israel’s critics accuse it of?
Settler violence is real enough – the evidence is there to be seen – is it reported or understood in Israel and the non-Arab world – no, not enough for a just solution – Palestinians are being forced to leave through economic pressures and the desire to bring their children up in peace – One state or two states – that is for the process between two peoples to decide with whatever help they seek in bringing it about – whatever the outcome these two peoples are going to have to get used to living with each other – to have a relationship based on equality and justice and the process of befriending – there is a long hard road ahead but the process has to start somewhere – the bravest of the brave are those people on both sides who are making that effort against the tides that swell around them.
