The Israeli ambassador to Brazil has filed a protest over fact that Brazilian soccer players, including the great Ronaldo, shown with keffiyeh, are planning to play Ramallah but not to have a companion date in Israel too. "An act of ostracism," says the ambassador. Precisely. I have just been to Gaza. There an entire people have been forcibly ostracized from the world stage. Students who have scholarships can't get out of the territory, let alone play football in other places. This is grotesquely unfair and any means that sensible people have of rectifying the situation must be applauded.
