Israel gov’t kinda denies that Netanyahu called Axelrod/Emanuel ‘self-hating Jews’

From Greg Sargent's blog. Mark Regev denied he'd heard Netanyahu say such words, then hung up.

I don't think those men are self-hating. In fact I think they probably have rather high opinions of themselves. The question is, are the actions of the current administration good for the Jewish nation? I would disagree and I do oppose ethnic cleansing of the Jewish population.

  2. John Smithson says:

No the question is NOT "are the actions of the current administration good for the Jewish nation?". Thats the problem in a nutshell friend. The question is: Are the actions of the current administration good for the UNITED STATES? And this should always be the question.

  3. eitanbenshlomo says:

Actually no, the question as to whether to Jews that are in the administration are self hating Jews. So I ask by self hating it means they don't hate themselves of course they have big egos so if what they are doing is damaging to the Jewish nation I can understand why some people would call them haters.

So, in other words, you subscribe to the view that Jews in the US should put the interest of Israel ahead of the interests of the US. If they don't they are "haters". You do know that that is an anti-semitic viewpoint you hold, don't you? All Jews must have a dual loyalty or even a single loyalty to Israel regardless of what country they are from? Its illuminating that you find such an anti-semitic view something worthy of espousing. And for the record the greatest damage to the Jewish nation has been done by Israel with its continuing mistreatment of the Palestinians. Nations are judged by the actions they take.

  5. Doppler says:

As Woody Allen said, I'm not a self-hating Jew. In fact, I like myself. It's you I hate.

  6. GoJetzoff says:

Who could hate Rahm? Rahm couldn't hate Rahm!

  7. eitanbenshlomo says:

I disagree. I don't think it is healthy for the Jewish nation to allow for ethnic cleansing of Jews from our native homeland.

  8. eitanbenshlomo says:

Also I'd like to point out that the USA is a free country. It is a Jewish person's right to oppose ethnic cleansing of Jews in Israel. That is what I personally believe is best for the United States of America.

Are you a computer program or something? You failed to answer my question and instead repeated your illogical mantra that you've plastered all over this website. Do you want a conversation or are you just here to spam a hasbara point ad nauseum, because I'm beginning to wonder.

  10. Citizen says:

Unlike Israel, the USA allows equal right for all before its network of laws as a prime concept embedded in an actual Constitution. It's every Americans right to oppose ethnic cleansing, whether done by a state or some less official entity, as such use of the police power violates our highest values for which values you can count the endless crosses on WW1 and WW2 battlefields. German Americans are the largest ethnic group of people buried under all those crosses. The USA shares no fully identical interests with any other nation on earth. Will Bibi attack Iran in desperation (see: Begin into Lebanon just before an election where he was way down in the polls)? If so that would be a clear case where the USA and Israel's interests divurge.

  11. Citizen says:

Yeah, all pedophiles are like that. Jacko was too. The neocons also viewed The People as sheeple, adults in body, pre-teens in mind. As did Hitler and his man helpers, as did Bernays, seminal Madison Avenue Man, and all those Roman leaders who spent lavishly on bread and circuses. AIPAC counts on it, also supported by moneybag and trumpet force, together in modern times more effective than tons of Roman legions. Well, that would be the US-Israeli military-industrial-support complex… Ike must be restless in his grave.

  12. Mythbuster says:

Wait a minute. You used the words "Jewish nation." This implies that Jews–as distinct from Israelis–are a "nationality." I doubt David Milliband or Phil agree with you.

  13. MRW says:

Just for the record, Citizen. Jackson was acquitted twice in two exhaustive integrated jury trials of those accusations. And I was in Beverly Hills during the first one. I remember distinctly when the mother and lawyer of the young accuser admitted they made it up for money. They were disgraced. (I believe it was the housemaids who tattle-taled to each other and that's how it was discovered initially, but dont hold me to that.) By that time of course, Diane Diamond and Maureen Orr had books coming out. The one whose reporting I believed because he did the footwork without emotion and relying on evidence was Mike Taibbi, Matt's father. Google his name for more. If you've ever been accused falsely in court, you get really sensitive to people accusing another with a broad brush. just sayin'.

  14. MRW says:

Essential correction: “because he did the footwork without emotion and BY relying on evidence…”

  15. Colin_Murray says:

That is what I personally believe is best for the United States of America. Please explain how you came to this insight.

  16. eitanbenshlomo says:

Colin, I think that it is important for the United States to stand up for human rights, I think this includes preventing ethnic cleansing of the Jewish population in Judea and Samaria. I also believes that the United States was wrong to support the expulsion of Jews from Gaza and it harmed the US.

  17. GoJetzoff says:

In terms of human rights, what about expulsions of Palestinians?

  18. DICKERSON3870 says:

RE: "our native homeland" SEE: "Ancient Israeli Myths Deter Peace", By Robert Parry, 07/09/09 (EXCERPT) The rationale for formally designating Israel a Jewish state – as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu now demands – rests on three religious-political pillars: God’s purported covenant with Moses instructing the ancient Israelites to conquer the land, the injustice of the Roman-era Diaspora that supposedly removed them centuries later, and the brutal persecution of European Jews in the Holocaust. Yet, two of these pillars – Moses conveying God’s covenant to the Israelites and the Roman Diaspora – appear based on almost no historical reality, the stuff of legend and possibly even lies that crumble under any serious scrutiny. Normally, such ancient stories might be regarded as harmless tales that some people treasure as part of their Judeo-Christian faiths, except that Netanyahu’s new demand means that these myths now threaten peace in the Middle East and conceivably could push the modern world into more bloody warfare. Therefore, they must be given fresh examination…. ENTIRE ARTICLE – http://www.consortiumnews.com/2009/070809.html

  19. eitanbenshlomo says:

I disagree with the Robert Parry thesis as do many others.

  20. tree_ says:

Crickets……. He's been asked this question or similar ones numerous times already. He ignores them all.

  21. John Smithson says:

What are those four principles again that are used by Hasbara types when making arguements? I smell one of them here – some kind of reversal of concept/switch. Anyway I'm not articulate enough to spell it out, but I will say this eitanbenshlomo won't be winning any refereed debates on the topic using this line of reasoning. My advice: Quit while you're ahead friend. The jig is up and we not gonna stop pushing. We go to church friend and have conciences – we're the decendents of the boys that liberated all those unfortunate folks suffering under the Germans a while back. We will do what is right – not what is good for one or another ethnic group. There are some obvious wrongs being committed all around, but Israel enjoys tremendous support that can and likely will evaporate. Given current trends – economic, political, etc. take your best offer now – the Arab Peace Initiative – and move on. I wish you well.

  22. Shingo says:

"It is a Jewish person's right to oppose ethnic cleansing of Jews in Israel " Jews can oppose anything they want, but if one expects to have any credibility, then you can't claim to be opposed to enthic cleasing of a population that was established by a prior enthic cleasing. That's akin to a car thief claiming that the car he stole is being stolen from him.

  23. GoJetzoff says:

My bad! I should have known.

  24. Citizen says:

Perhaps, I will have to look into Jacko's trials more closely; for now I will say maybe Jacko's court wins in this area were not "jury nullification" or biased bench trials. But, as a former Chicago trial lawyer, and with some knowledge of Jacko's penchant for sleeping with kids, I have a double reason to suspect Jacko was a child molester. This is not inconsistent necessarily with some mother trying cash in on such at Jacko's expense… Just sayin'.

  25. Shingo says:

"I disagree with the Robert Parry thesis as do many others" So what? Parry has made a case. Simply disagreeing with it and not giving a counter argument is pissing into the wind.
