Abunimah and Ratner to speak on Gaza tonight in NY

Ali Abunimah and Michael Ratner will be speaking about Gaza tonight at the Judson Memorial Church in Greenwich Village. That’s Abunimah, at left, in Cairo last month, on the morning he decided not to go into Gaza after all, following the request of Haidar Eid abunimahof Palestinian civil society. I imagine he’ll talk about that decision and that Ratner will talk about his eye-opening visit to the West Bank. Also speaking are Fida Qishta, who has written some fine pieces from Gaza for the Guardian, and Jenna Bitar, who was part of a New York Palestinian-American family group that joined the Code Pink-organized march. It should be an exciting event.

Juan Cole today http://www.juancole.com/2010/01/world-health-agencies-condemn-israeli.html compared the relief given to Haiti with the blockade of Gaza, citing this site as essential reading.

The message is spreading.

Thanks for the link. They are collectively a sick society in denial, as Avigail Abarbanel has said it so well [http://eaazi.blogspot.com/], pretending to care about humanity as long as it’s not impeding on the plan for greater Israel.

Yuck! When Juan Cole is an Op-Ed columnist for the NYTimes, I will start to buy their faux newspaper again. The US corporate media is rotting from the inside and the net is casts become more worthless as they continue to cover up Palestine.
The corporate media, are losing their footing, given people have vast access to media resources today. They might want to save face and hope for a future without another government bailout.

The NYTimes is too busy beating the drums for war on Iran; theNYTimes doesn’t
realize it’s rotting–I hope it’s war drum rots away before Israel will be green-lighted
by the Obama regime to bomb Iran.

Yeah, they don’t see their media net is like swiss cheese at this point. They can’t control the news any longer since that damn internet thing started. The newspapers ‘nuclear’ option, seems to be proposing a pay package, like the cable companies, for access to their newscasts.
I wonder if suckers out there will pay for it? I mean Chris Matthew is such an informative truth teller, and his pal O’Reilly also.

It’s too bad that when newcomers arrive at this site, they’ll find it infested by Zionist trollspam.

“Zionist trollspam.”

That’s expected. You find people like BR all over the net when this issue is discussed and while they are annoying, they discredit their own side for any reader who has any sense. I’d be more worried about the occasional antisemitic remarks that sometimes come from one or two of the commenters–that doesn’t give a good impression and you don’t want that attitude linked to the cause of Palestinian human rights.

At some point, the sheer amount of the spam drives away serious posters. It’s Gresham’s Law of the internet. Most site administrators know they have to take steps to stop the worst offenders.
