Explaining a Gaza atrocity

Norman Finkelstein has reportedly been disinvited from a speaking gig at DePaul, but he speaks at Harvard Law School tonight about the Goldstone Report. A teaser he sent this site :

I was rereading the Israeli Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center’s 350-page response to Goldstone: Hamas and the Terrorist Threat from the Gaza Strip: The main findings of the Goldstone Report versus the factual findings. It is such an embarrassment that you almost — I said almost — begin to feel sorry for the authors. If you have read the Goldstone report, you will recall the harrowing passages [Paragraphs 1112-26] of Palestinians forced to kneel blindfolded and handcuffed in sandpits surrounding Israeli tanks that are firing away or moving back and forth.

So, listen to what this Israeli report conjures up: "Hamas operatives would position innocent civilians near IDF tanks to prevent IDF soldiers from shooting at them" (p. 196). You get it: a "Hamas operative" drags a Palestinian civilian in front of an Israeli tank and then says: "You stand right here to make sure the Israeli tank squad doesn’t fire at us." No doubt the tank squad obliged and stood idly by.

Once again, the Zionist perspective proves to be completely divorced from facts, or even just common sense.

It’s an old article at this point, but brilliant in its summation of the real terrorists and instigators of violence in this conflict:

Reigniting Violence: How Do Ceasefires End?

  2. radii says:

the zionist regime must really have thought the equation would never change – they can’t wrap their minds around the new paradigm with US military pointing out linkage between US security and I/P situation …. Bibi and the loyal zio-army still think they can rely on the old stand-by media spin to get out of this new reality

    • Citizen says:

On Imus this morning; he was interviewing Chris Wallace regarding Petraeus’s statement about the impact of the I-P issue on P’s command mission and his troops; Wallace conceded very vaguely P had a point. Imus had to cox same out of him; then Imus cut Wallace off, saying, “That’s all I want to know.” Then Imus went on to banter about domestic things.

    Israeli intelligence, our constant companion

Another big week for Israeli spies – new and old.

In the latest chapter of the Dubai assassination drama, Britain gave the boot Tuesday to an Israeli diplomat, asserting that Israel was involved in the forgery of U.K. passports used in the January killing of a senior Hamas operative.

Meanwhile, declassified FBI documents from a 25-year-old Israeli spy scandal here surfaced on the Internet.

Lest one think the Israelis might lay low for awhile, a defiant Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu delivered a fiery speech in Washington Tuesday to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the same powerful group implicated in that long-ago spy scandal.

thanks for this heads up Phillip. You can place bets that the MSM will not cover this talk. MSNBC has not touched the Goldstone Report. Not Keith, not Chris Matthews not Ed. Hell Rachel Maddow will only cover human rights abuses if you are gay and in Ghana and being threatened, or in a U.S. backed protest in Iran. No way will this supposed progressive cover war crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza. No way will she touch the 4 Palestinian teenagers who were killed by the Israeli army while people were dining on wine and cheese at the Aipac conference. Rachel’s owners or Rachel herself will not touch these critical issues.

  6. Kathleen says:

NPR Talk of the Nation, The Diane Rehm show, Fresh Air has not come close to reporting anything about the Goldstone Report. Silence SILENCE

    • Les says:

The US media is the Israel Lobby, not just its mouthpiece. That includes NPR. Not reporting can be just as effective as the dreadful reporting of NPR’s Linda Gradstein’s reading from Jerusalem of government and IDF press releases as if they were news.

  7. potsherd says:

Nothing is more disgusting than the US government continuing to call the Goldstone report “full of lies.”

  8. Citizen says:

Fox news doesn’t cover those issues either, not Hannity, not O’Reilly, not Beck.

  9. Larry says:

Concerning [Paragraphs 1112-26] – all this will make interesting reading for future historians. Israel continues to be is its own worst enemy.

Norman Finkelstein’s ad on a Zionist blog breaks his commitment to BDS:

    link to jewlicious.com

    • Chaos4700 says:

Did you kick a few puppies and buy a sweater made from real Tamil children’s hair on your way to make this posting, yonira?

You’re one of those people who would have smiled as he sold one of his slave’s children for a profit, wouldn’t you?

    • Chaos4700 says:

Seriously, do you even know what BDS is? Do you guys over on that Islamophobic Jewish-supremacist hatefest of a blog even know what it is? Because obviously you haven’t got any frickin’ clue how BDS works.

Do I need to get out the sock puppet? Again?

      • yonira says:

you don’t shit about that blog first of all. second. why is good old norm putting an add on a Zionist website?

Also dipshit, the wine CK bought was from the Golan, a company which is in the BDS boycott list. so what the fuck you talking about?

3rd, i’d love to see you make one post on the that blog, they would own you. kinda like you and cliff get owned on here by WJ, Julian, and Witty.

        • aparisian says:

yoni i tried to give you a chance and went through the hate jewlicious chicken shit site, i started to try to read the first two lines here they are Finkelstein is one of the most noxious anti-Israel voices out there, beloved of supporters of terror and a nasty piece of work in general. But suddenly i started to vomit! WOW whats the hell is this yoni? WOW phony troll!

        • yonira says:

Its a thought process which isn’t like yourself, thing of all of your hate towards Israel, then think of the exact opposite.

instead of hating Israel, they love Israel. and Finkelstein is helping to fund their blog.

(i was kind of sick of the Finkelstein posts too, but they were exploiting the fac that he paid a Zionist blog to link to his book. And that money funded the Golan Heights Winery, which is on the BDS list of boycotted sites.)

          so eat it Aparisian!

        • Cliff says:

Tell me yonira, when did any of those people you’ve mentioned ever counter something I’ve said w/ a substantiated argument? Julian? Are you serious? He’s even more ignorant than you (because he’s more succinct).

There is no substance. (You never actually argue a point here.)

The only issue that matters is whether the Two State solution is still viable – which it isn’t.

And here we are, back at square one with the actual conflict and not a pissing contest.

Anyways, no matter how ‘exceptional’ you feel your identity is, things have become intractable. Your nationalism has become a joke. Your surrounded by Arabs and they aren’t going anywhere. And on the flip-side, the Jews in both the OT and Israel won’t go anywhere. So we have a de facto One State solution.

That’s it. No amount of your bitching and name-calling, wolf crying of antisemitism, Jew-hating/bashing/etc., is going to change that. Too much greed on part of your faction has led them to become entrenched in the territories.

It’s amusing really. I mean, the Palestinians have so much against them. And yet all they have to do is continue to pursue non-violent resistance like BDS.

No wonder you’re so against it and pretty much any other form of resistance. The very idea that these people should be pissed off about what’s happening to them, is illegitimate to you.

Do you really think you’re accomplishing anything though? You’re so petty yonira. This is bigger than anyone on this blog. But if someone were to read your posts, you’d think we were talking about sports teams. Go to hell.

        • yonira says:

          Cliff,

I am not sure what identity you are talking about. the majority of Jews in Israel would consider me a gentile.

Do you think a binational state is viable? that is so ludicrous. The Palestinians got screwed, not just by Israel, but by the entire world as a whole. its unfortunate, but true. Their armed resistance has failed and so has the ‘non violent’ resistance. Its unfortunate but true, its easy for you to sit in Ohio, in your cushy home, having everything handed to you on a silver platter and defend the Palestinians. What is sad, there are human beings there, which will not benefit from ppl like you who think (and put ideas in their brains) that they will have true justice. Its not going to happen. they need to take what they can get, and what they can get is a two state solution, which may lead in the future to a bi-national state, but right now, its impossible.

So maybe give up your X-box activism, it may make you feel righteous, but its only screwing your ’cause’ more and more.

        • Cliff says:

When I refer to your ‘identity’, yonira – I think it’s quite obvious I mean the Zionist construct of Jewishness.

Xbox activism? Are you going to steal my lines now?

And what’s w/ the ‘cushy home in Ohio’ stuff? You unable to think up more effective and/or new insults? I’m not some millionaire. I don’t drink Cristal.

Don’t lecture me about what’s best for the Palestinians. Palestinians want BDS.

And just as I said, it doesn’t matter what the Palestinians do, in your view – whatever kind of angst they have, whatever kind of resistance they partake in, is all inherently illegitimate because of their target. Zionism. ‘Jewish’ nationalism.

You and Julian especially enjoy claiming BDS has failed when it’s only getting started. And there is more to the non-violent resistance, other than BDS.

But according to your ridiculous rebuttal, ‘non violent’ (in quotations, because you refer to it cynically) resistance has already failed.

Too bad, I didn’t make the Jewish State on top of an indigenous population. I didn’t, nor did the Palestinians, make the Zionists venture into the territories and stay there to colonize. Your ‘side’ did.

My point is that whatever whining you do here is kind of pointless. Israel is beating itself at the moment. You won’t ethnically cleanse Palestine again. And at the same time, no Jew – no matter how illegal their presence may be in a given location – is leaving either.

Hence, a de facto One-State. I couldn’t care about a ‘Jewish’ homeland because just from the reality of Zionism and not the hypothetical (as in the right of a people to self-determination which is another story) – it’s all fucked.

So go ahead. Make the most hilariously inane insults about my personal life (based on the scraps of information I’ve stated here; damn, you’re pathetic man).

        • Chaos4700 says:

          Yonira,

For Professor Finkelstein to break his commitment to BDS, he would have to buy a case of wine from the Golan Heights.

Not his publisher, who is the party responsible for buying that ad space in the first place. Finkelstein has no control over what his publisher does. He has no say and he certainly doesn’t control his publisher’s pocketbook. I know its a lot to even expect you to so much as pick up a book, yonira, let alone understand how one actually gets published. But still.

And certainly not some phony white suburban Jewish boy who hates Arabs and “Arab lovers.” He’s the one who spent the money on wine from stolen property in the Golan Heights — which not only makes him a fool, but it makes him willfully complicit in ethnic cleansing and war crimes. I don’t think Norman Finkelstein can really be expected to take responsibility for the reprehensible actions of a foul-mouthed, barely literate blogger who can only just about string two letters together on a keyboard. Seriously, what do you expect the professor to do? Spank the child and teach him a lesson? That was supposed to be his parents’ job.

And from the bottom of my heart, yonira, thank you. Once again, you prove to the world that in order to be a Zionist, one really and truly has to have something going wrong in the head, to the point where simple facts and basic semantics of language cannot penetrate that thick Jew-Nazi skull you and your confederates invariably possess.

        • sherbrsi says:

Yonira is the perfect example of the recent surge of Zionists suddenly urging a two-state solution, that the “Palestinians take whatever they can get.”

This desperation stems from the very true fear that the Zionist state is now in need of saving itself from itself. Inadvertently it has walked into the problem the occupation and apartheid system was put in place to enforce: the division of Jew and Arab.

It isn’t going to happen. The Palestinians have time on their side. As of right now it is only a waiting game for them as Israel further destroys what little credibility it had in the world. Israel’s entire “solution” for the Palestinians is the continued instatement of the status quo: when they call, America has to come running for them to defend Israel against the onslaught of resolutions condemning its atrocities. Well public opinion is changing, so are American priorities and Israel can’t depend on the special relationship to last forever.

        • yonira says:

hey asshole he is a mizrachi jew, who considers himself an arab jew. you should really get a clue about what your are talking about.

          Jew-Nazi, classy Chaos.

        • aparisian says:

no yonira i won’t eat it i will spit on you.
You are not just Arabs hater, Ziocaine shit but you are anti-semi so if i understand well you are saying here that Finkelestein loves money because he is jew and working with his adversaries or enemies? WOW yonira you are so disgusting!!!

        • Mooser says:

“I am not sure what identity you are talking about. the majority of Jews in Israel would consider me a gentile.”

Even after you “roll your own”? (“Roll your own” is Zionist vernacular for converting a girl and then marrying her, so she can have, as Yonira put it “my Jewish children”)

BTW, Yonira, you set a date for the wedding yet? Remember Yonira, it’s conversion, wedding, then sex, in that order.

Yonira, please try and remember, Israel wouldn’t be possible if every Jew decided for himself how much of his religion to obey. You are stabbing Israel with your own dick (I know, not a large threat, but still…) if you refuse to conform for the sake of your own sexual lust. “There’s no Jewish justice when you lusteth”, as the Good Book says! It’s from the Ephemera, and you can look it up!

        • Tuyzentfloot says:

        • aparisian says:

Mooser you are a great guy! Thank you.

  11. UNIX says:

What is it that most readers would like to see on this website? One state or two?

    • Chaos4700 says:

This isn’t a good way to take a straw poll, you know.

    • Mooser says:

‘What is it that most readers would like to see on this website? One state or two?”

You astupid git, most of us would be thrilled beyond measure if Israel did (actually, you know did something) something, anything which might indicate its willingness to abandon its policy of intransigence, landgrabbing, murder, illegal arrest, you name it. Israel has many, many areas where any relief from its intransigence would thrill all of us.

Did you ever think, you stupid git, that if Israel moderated some of its actions, more people would be in favor of or think a two-state solution is possible.
