CAMERA, the Israel lobby group, is having a conference in two weeks at Boston University with a whole session devoted to “Jewish Defamers of Israel” and three speakers on the subject, including Alvin Rosenfeld of Indiana University who 3 years ago gave us all a hernia with his American Jewish Committee report equating anti-Zionism with anti-semitism. This time he’s talking about Jews at Sea. Maybe he is talking about the Jewish boat to Gaza? Or people like me, hopelessly unaffiliated, married to shikses/shaigitzes, out of touch with our roots?
There is also a session on “What Hath Walt and Mearsheimer wrought?” Classic rock. Look at the events and you get the feeling that criticizing Israel is a growth industry, while defending it are just the usual suspects, Alan Dershowitz and Daniel Pipes.
Pipes is talking about “The Islamic Background.” He is sure to talk about Muslim birth rates and polygamy and the threats to Jane Austen’s England. Someone else is talking about “Criminal” Europe.
