Regarding Roger Cohen's column on who are the real Jews, which hit such a nerve. Writes a friend, "Note the 'iht' in the link.
"Roger Cohen's article only appeared online in the NYT and not in print. What a loss. On what grounds do they decide to run some of his pieces and exclude others, or is it his pick?"

All international editions of US-MSM are much more likely to publish information, articles, opinions and letters that are impossible to find in “inland” editions.
My theory is that they have to do it to maintain the modicum of plausibility with non-USA readers.
But it is a serious mistake for foreigner to impute the variation of viewpoints in press in USA based on those publications.
Although the “comments” section of Cohen’s article is now closed, the comments are numerous and overwhelmingly positive. Read it–it is wonderful!
WSJ does creative editing too.

Munro, priceless.

you have to ask? you wouldn’t want to expose regular people all across the country to this kind of reality! what if they responded similar to the online community! heavens, we would have to rethink the meme about how americans think about israel.
Note that it was “religious Jews” that did the spitting and punching.
55% of Israeli (88% of orthodox) Jews support the latest rabbi racist calls, including not to rent to arabs and not to hire arabs in shops employing Jewish girls–because the good rabbis want to keep the Jewish blood poor. Where’s the black caucas on this? Where’s George Castanza?
Oops, I mean pure, not poor.
Religious Jews provide just another bit of evidence for the general thesis that religion does not make people moral.
