The Emergency Committee for Israel is running this ad in the South Carolina media market. Ron Kampeas reports it's first time ECI has targeted a Republican.

What a pack of lies about Ron Paul. Send him money. Keep him in the debates. He is the only person bringing up these critical issues in an honest way. Send him money. Call into radio/Tv programs over the weekend and on Monday making clear the “sharp distinction” between the Republican candidates and Paul.
Thats a compliment and a confirmation that he’s on the right track – President R. Reagan is turning over in his grave ,…
“Thats a compliment and a confirmation that he’s on the right track”
Here’s another one ,…

“he denies that Iran is building nuclear weapons” no one has confirmed that Iran is building nuclear weapons. Not the IAEA, not other intelligence agencies, not anyone…well except Netanyahu and other Israeli officials as well as the I lobby
As Ron Paul points out, even if Iran got the bomb, it would do nothing physical with it since the US or Israel could blow it back to the stone age in an instant. OTOH, even with a feeble nuke, Iran would upset Israel’s total hegemony in the ME–that’s why Iran is targeted next on the PNAC dart board. (Israel actually wanted it target first, but, due to Bush Jr’s infantile fantasies, it opted to go along with 2nd, after Iraq.
Exactly- Mutually Assured Destruction.
A. Religious babbling aside, Iran has not shown itself to be a non rational actor. I know the zionists are going to dispute this so I challenge them to find an example of Iran acting completely outside of its own state interest, whether in the short or long term.
B. Not only does Israel have nuclear arms, but so does the United States, England and France. These countries would all take an attack on Israel very seriously, to the point they would attack Iran if Israel were not able to launch its own. China, Russia, India, or Pakistan would probably NOT retaliate if Iran were struck… Maybe Pakistan, but it’s nukes are all aimed at India, so they probably aren’t willing to spare any. In any case, Iran’s odds are terrible in this situation.
C. If Iran were to create a nuclear weapon, they almost certainly won’t give it to a third party, because it’s not a suitcase bomb- the thing weighs tons and requires a legitimate military installation to launch it. Also, in the highly unlikely event Hezbollah were to suddenly acquire a nuclear weapon, Iran is automatically targeted as an accomplice. So Iran can’t even lay the blame on someone else.
D. The Iranians have Soviet era shit for weapons. Compared to Israel, they’re stuff is crap. It might scare some civilians or do a little damage to a city, but it’s not stuff that can fight a legitimate war with. The only advantage Iran has is numbers- they can just throw people at the oncoming Israelis. The ugliness of that massacre will cause the US, Europe, and others to force Israel to ceasefire and Israel has to relive the 2006 embarrassment of not really accomplishing anything.
E. The US/ Israel would like to see regime change in Iran and going to war or the threat of immenent war is probably the only thing that would ensure Iranians not rebel against their rulers- after all, they need the army to protect them. After 9/11, Bush’s ratings went up to the 80s and he really didn’t do very much to instil confidence during those few weeks. Removing the threat of war would allow the Iranian people the opportunity to restart the green revolution- although The next Iranian government is not going to be allies with Israel, because they’ll identify with the Palestinians.
I don’t see how Iran would ever have any opportunity to throw it’s superior numbers against Israeli troops. It’s a thousand miles from Tel Aviv to Tehran. How would Israel even get its troops on Iranian soil? Certainly not through Jordan or Iran. I mean, wouldn’t they notice?
I have sent Dr. Paul money and will again, and I will do whatever I can to assist his campaign. The use of Beethovan in this ad is an insult to that great composer.
Phone calls email, twitters to all MSM outlets that have live shows. Pump it up. Point out the key distinction between Paul and the others
just put a comment in south carolina’s “The State” newspaper to an article there about the latest poll results in South Carolina. don’t know if it’ll survive being flagged, but suggest mw’ers besiege south caroline newspapers* with comments in support of Paul’s antiwar position.
*google south carolina newspapers
great
Ditto here, quercus.
With ads like these coming from an organization calling itself the Committee for Israel, it’s going to make it almost impossible for anyone to deny any longer that there’s such a thing as an Israel Lobby. And when their attacks focus on a candidate’s anti-war position, it’s also going to make it hard for anyone to deny that the Israel lobby is a pro-war lobby.
On the other hand I don’t accuse these people of stupidity and they must have thought of this too, and therefore must have decided that the Israel brand name is strong enough to take the hit. It’s going to be interesting to see if they’re right.
The Zionist Jews must love that groveling Christian fundy in the video. I bet if you met him, and told him Zionist jews laugh at him behind his back, he’d be actually surprised. He’s typical.
Worst use of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata in a political ad ever.
thank you. i was wondering. but it’s brilliant the way the mood changes right when bauer changes, right? propagandistically?
Actually, it may be the only use of the Moonlight Sonata in a political ad.
The Moonlight Sonata was used very effectively in a Nazi wartime propaganda movie, Wunschkonzert [Request Concert]. A sensitive young man, who’s about to be sent off to fight on the Western front, plays it to an appreciative audience of his neighbors in his apartment building. Needless to say, he is later killed in the fighting (while playing an organ in a captured church).
Oh wow!
Actual movie footage of Palestine from 1896!
It was still part of the Ottoman Empire!

Wait, I thought that the land was completely empty. The zionists believe that there were no Arabs there before 1948.
If the Emergency Committee for Israel were honest about their true intentions, they’d drape an Israeli flag behind Gary Bauer. After all, their message is NOT designed to promote America first, but ISRAEL FIRST, as Ron Paul represents America First in every way!
Okay, let’s pretend they’d have the guts to be straightforward and displayed the Israeli flag behind Bauer; Ron Paul would be the next nominee and maybe the next President.
But I ask South Carolinians and all Americans, please see through the FACADE of the American flag in the background for the sake of truth and America’s future, because it’s actually being used as a FRONT for the flag of Israel it’s covering up.
Please let this ad backfire.
I hope Ron Paul puts this ad on top of his campaign page somehow like that: “Israel-firster lobby dislikes Ron Paul, because he doesn’t want that US soldiers die for Israel in Iran.” It’s kind of a medal of honor that he has brought the Israel lobby to the point that the lobby is leaving it’s holes to fight him openly.
how’s that for patriotism, the president of so-called American Values, gary bauer touting his israel-firstness for all to see. hey, mr. bauer, is making war and killing tens of thousands of people (iranians & americans, among others) one of your values? don’t you know that your hard core support of the settler entity israel is contrary to the interests of the u.s. of a., and that you’re giving evangelicals a bad name?
I’m astounded by the way these Republicans stumble over themselves telling us how much they will do for Israel. If Romney wins the election, Israel will be the first country he visits. Santorum has said he will bomb Iran for Israel. Gingrich, Perry and Bachmann have suggested they would do the same.
I for one would like to see Romney promise to visit a rust belt area like western Pennsylvania if he wins the presidency. Why this rush to visit Israel? It’s not as if he’s ever not been there before.
Enhanced Version:

The fear is palpably evident in the messaging.
The field has been winnowed. Should the next battleground in New Hampshire see the Romney/Santorum/Paul camps whittled down to a Romney and Paul fight, that fear will become paralyzing in the breasts of Paul’s opponents.
It helps Paul (and Romney too) for there to be several candidates to divide the neocon vote.
Wonder how the new Israeli student enlistees in Israel will twist the comments here–on hiring Israeli student trolls to go around the world and peddle hasbara to enhance Israel’s image on the internet–quick way to make $5,000 for 5 hours of chair work a day–so that’s more US tax payer money in fungible Israel: link to councilforthenationalinterest.org
$5,000 for 5 hours of chair work a day
that’s $1000 an hr! not bad for a student hasbarist. the figure according to your link is:
$2,000 to spread pro-Israel propaganda online for 5 hours per week
that is $2000 per year.
Yeah, I don’t know where I got that $5,000, annie. Sorry about the misinformation. So they just get what amounts to around US minimum wage for the total hours they need to accomplish.
Gary Bauer was one of the signers of the Statement of Principles of Project for the New American Century (PNAC) on June 3, 1997. He’s been against any trade with China until they change their domestic civil rights record, while, on his other pasty fundie hand, he supports Israel right or wrong to the max. Mr Family Values. He makes me wanna puke (as my dear departed mom would say).
I just heard that Adam Horowitz and Lizzy Ratner will be regulars on WBAI’s Beyond the Pale. I look forward to hearing from both of you.
