Gov. Jerry Brown brags on signing historic agreement with Netanyahu in Silicon Valley

Did you see Netanyahu’s graphic for his travels in the U.S. this week? Notice the Silicon Valley visit. Well, guess who’s showing up there?

Governor Jerry Brown, a progressive. His press release is below. A reminder that the power of the Israel lobby reflects the importance of high-tech partnerships in blue states. Like the Cornell-Technion deal that progressive NY Mayor Bill de Blasio is behind all the way. These are entrenched corporate interests that also have a religious component, Jewish nationalism (something the media would blast if it involved Christian fundamentalists and stem-cell research).

Governor Brown and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to Meet in Mountain View Next Week

MOUNTAIN VIEW – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet next week in the heart of the Silicon Valley to sign a historic agreement that expands California ‘s partnership with Israel on economic development, research and trade.

When: Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Reporters must check in before 7:30 a.m.
Where: Computer History Museum , Hahn Auditorium, 1401 North Shoreline Blvd. , Mountain View , CA 94043

The agreement will boost economic, cultural and academic cooperation between California and Israel , with an emphasis on water conservation, alternative energy, cybersecurity, health and biotechnology, education and agricultural technology.

The agreement will also enable Israeli companies to access California ‘s Innovation Hubs (iHUB), an innovation network that includes 16 clusters of research parks, technology incubators, universities and federal laboratories, together with economic development organizations, business groups and venture capital funds.

PS. Obama gave Jeffrey Goldberg an interview, it was teased on Meet the Press this morning, should be published later today. Why? Because Obama knows that Goldberg represents the Israel lobby, speaks to them, shares their interest. So Obama is addressing AIPAC. And Obama needs AIPAC for much the reason that Jerry Brown and de Blasio need it.

Hmm? They will be briefed by an expert staff of PR experts that make sure the news are somewhat uniform? Journalists are an important group of special attention.

My attitude is that if Bibi and Israel want to be treated like a civilized Western European country then they needs to start acting like one. I have been watching Israel for 60 years while they give the Palestinians the rope-a-dope. I am not impressed. Enough!

The solution has to come from below, the people. This is true for all “western governments” events have to move beyond them. This is why grass roots BDS is so key. The 500 or so people in the US government can really only do one thing and that is help Israel. They can’t get anything done for America, but attach Israel to it and bam its done. Sooner or later the sheeeple will figure it out. Most recently the push back to McConnell’s attempt to attach Iran sanctions to Veterans bill.

Gov. Brown, whose family wallows in blood-money from its Suharto-connected past, knows when it is expedient to look the other way when genocide is in view.

How much is this deal actually worth to Israel ?They need to replace what they are losing due to BDS. They need to grow their economy. It’s not clear how they are going to do this.
