Netanyahu says Israel’s ‘hand is outstretched to peace’ — but he makes a fist

This is funny. The Israeli Prime Minister’s office published this video of Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Birthright delegations of visiting young Jews two days ago. And the PM tells them Israel’s hand is outstretched to peace, but he’s making a fist.

Go to the minute mark of the video below.

It’s a country that feeds the hungry, heals the sick, and helps keep people safe in Africa Asia and around the world. This is the real Israel… It’s a strong country that is ready to defend itself against any threat. And its hand is outstretched to peace,  a genuine peace, with all our neighbors. This is the real Israel and you should tell everyone about it. Everyone.

You can see that Netanyahu twice makes a fist as he speaks of this genuine peace Israel is seeking.

Netanyahu also says that Iran’s days are numbered, in language that is somewhat reminiscent of the old Iranian threat that Israel will vanish from the page of time. Netanyahu:

[Iran] put up a digital clock counting down to Israel’s destruction… Well we were here in this land for thousands of years before the ayatollahs took the people of Iran hostage, and we’ll be here long after their theocratic tyranny is just a footnote of history.

For the Iranian quote, see the New Statesman.

Oh and here’s the PM’s rapt audience.

    The Yahoo getting down to the Nitay Gritay. Scary I don`t think so. Ludicrous I think so.
    Compare with one of his illustrious Apartheid forebears.

    You can almost sense the underlining pscyhopathy.

    I wonder if they are in anyway related.

    Actions speak louder than words. Bibi has constantly broken international laws, built illegal settlements, mowed the lawn, killed civilians unmercifully, kept the occupation going, and called the Palestinians beasts. The only peace loving nation that has dropped cluster in the neighborhood as a gesture of peace and love.

    However his hands are always extended for expensive cigars and pink champagne.

    Netanyahu is like a blend of Richard Nixon and Bernie Madoff. He has a secret plan for peace, and he swindles Jews, selling them a war zone as a “safe haven”.

    He actually says, “Are you with the free, or are you with the enslaved?” How else can one interpret this other than an admission that Palestinians are enslaved by Israel?

    The Times of Israel is reporting that Mad Dog Adelson may be switching his $ support from the Yahoo to Gruppenfuhrer Bennett:

    Loved the picture. Looks as if Adelson is enjoying one last twist of the Yahoo`s undercarriage. Just for old times sake.

    RE: “This is the real Israel… IIt’s a strong country that is ready to defend itself against any threat. And its hand is outstretched to peace, a genuine peace, with all our neighbors.” ~ Netanyahu

    MY COMMENT: Netanyahu appears to be psychologically incapable of committing to “peace”. There always has to be a qualifier, as in:
    A “DURABLE” PEACE, or
    A “REALISTIC” PEACE or
    A “GENUINE” PEACE.
    Apparently these vague qualifiers are really just placeholders (i.e., Trojan adjectives) for the many unspoken, specific qualifiers he has in mind.

    As to the identities of the “neighbors” Netanyahu was referring to, I have certainly never heard him refer to the Palestinians as “neighbors”.

    He forgot to mention that “the real Israel” is a country:
    – born of Jewish terrorism and the ethnic cleansing of its indigenous population from their homes and lands;
    – established and maintained as a religion-supremacist “Jewish State” – a state primarily of and for Jewish Israelis and non-Israeli Jews – rather than as a secular and democratic Israeli state of and for all of its citizens, immigrants, expats and refugees, equally;
    – that has been stealing, occupying and colonizing territory outside of its / Partition borders for almost 70 years;
    – that refuses to honour its obligations under international law (incl. RoR); and
    – that refuses to accept any responsibility or accountability for the (war) crimes it has deliberately committed and which it continues deliberately to commit.

    This is the real Israel. Everyone should be told about it. Everyone.

    If he wants a genuine peace let him state the terms on which he wants it made.

    “It’s a country that … heals the sick,”

    If the sick can make it past the checkpoints.
