It must be said that other than the Allenby gate there is no way for anyone to reach Palestine except through Ben Gurion airport. When the Palestinians have their own airport there will be no need for anyone to go through Israel. Not only is Gaza a prison but so is the West Bank and the Israelis are the cruel and brutal jailers.
I am also reminded of the time when there was a great campaign in the West, especially in the US, to get the Jews out of the Soviet Union. However, if the Soviet Jews chose not to go to Israel but to another country no effort was made to get them out. This was surely a campaign to increase the population of Jews in Israel more than it was to help the Jews of the Soviet Union who never suffered in any degree as do the Palestinians under the Israeli bootl.
Ackerman and the rest of the Israel First crowd should understand that there is every reason for Muslims to be anti-Semitic given what the Jews have done to the Palestinians. Israel has proclaimed itself as the nation state of the Jewish people and what they do reflects on Jews around the world. Certainly Jews were anti-German during World War 2 and for years after.
If Ackerman and his crowd don't want there to be anti-Semitism then they should not sit by and applaud every Israeli action that feeds anti-Semitism.
Avi, if you think that our troops are fighting to protect our "freedoms" you have a lot to learn. We heard that same stupid mantra when Reagan supported the death squads in El Salvador. We heard it when the US and Israel supported contra terrorists who were responsible for the murder of 10,000 Nicaraguans. We heard it when a reason had to be given for our murderous assault on Vietnam. We heard it when Bush and his criminal cabal said that we had to attack Iraq because of WMDs and to protect our freedoms. It is the cry of those in government and elsewhere who cannot reveal the real reason for sending our troops overseas to kill and be killed.
As for covering up their mouths, I find it brilliant. They did not stop the Israeli mouthpiece from spewing his hasbara. They exercised the right of every American to show what they think of the speaker. No American soldier fought or died for this right. The troops were sent overseas to ensure our right to the oil under the ground and to give hegemony in the Middle East to the US and Israel.
With their white head coverings these damnable settlers remind me of the Ku Klux Klan. Thier mentality is no different.
Unfortunately they will never spend time behind bars where they so deservedly belong.
How true. This world would be far better off had this land thief and squatter
never been born. At least we can console ourselves that he didn't live much longer so that he could steal more land.
eee- If you can please get a copy of "Journey to Jerusalem" written by American journalist Grace Halsell who spent some time in 1979 with Isaeli Jews and Palestinian Christians and Muslims.
This book was written before the first suicide bombing. When I finished reading of the brutality of the Israelis my first thought was that the Israelis should consider themselves lucky that there were not more suicide bombings. I guarantee you that if Jews were under a similar occupation they would not be peaceful and bow down to their occupiers. Why do you expect Palestinians to just accept whatever Israel wants to dish out?
eee- Of course the Israelis want "negotiations." They will talk, talk, talk, while at the same time they will grab, grab, grab and build more settlements until there is nothing left for the Palestinians, the people who were dispossessed from their homes and lands in 1948 and 1967 because European Zionists wanted a place free from anti-Semitism. Remember eee it was not the Palestinians who were responsible for European anti-Semitism and yet they were forced to pay a high price for something for which they were not responsible. How is that fair?.
eee- Neither the settlers nor the ID belong there. If they would both get the hell out there would be no need for stones on the part of Palestinian kids who primarily throw their stones against heavily armed Israeli troops..
Remember, the Israelis have far stronger weapons than stones. Let us say machine guns, tear gas, skunk gas, sound bombs etc. not to mention jet planes.
How about giving the Palestinians the same weapons? It would certainly level the playing field.
Meanwhile stop complaining and tell the Israelis to get back to the 1967 line, dismantle the settlements or, better yet, leave the settlements to the Palestinians and take the settlers out, one and all.
Unless you want, as I do, to have one democratic secular state for all.
Hophmi -
Had you read the diary of David Ben Gurion you would have seen that he wrote that the Jews would accept partition but when they became strong as the result of becoming a state they would expand to all of the area.
I have no doubt but that would have happened.
BTW, why should the Arabs not have resented an alien people coming into their land and displacing them? The Arabs of Palestine were never consulted as to whether or not they wanted to give up their land to the Jews who constituted only a small percentage of the population of Palestine. Unlike the Jews, the Arabs of Palestine did not have pressure groups in Europe and America who were using their clout to demand that those in power grant them a state in Palestine.
The Palestinians had nothing to do with the anti-Semitism in Europe that drove a group of Zionists to use their clout for a homeland in Palestine and in the end the Palestinians had to pay an enormous price for what what was done to the Jews.
It is past time that the Jews of Israel and the world acknowledge the role that they played in the terrible suffering of the Palestinians, a suffering that continues unabated.
Phil - Is it possible that the US does not want peace in the Middle East? As long as the pot is boiling Israel can whine about its victimhood and the weapons manufacturers can continue making and selling their obscene weapons while laughing all the way to the bank.
Peace is not something that the Americans, the Israelis or the weapons manufacturers want.
Sorry, I did mean Palestine, not Israel.
Yesterday the state of Georgia murdered a likely innocent man. Earlier in the day at the United Nations President Obama likely murdered a future state of Israel.
Both murders were crimes against humanity.
DBG it seems strange to me that Israel is so interested in "investgating" the murder of a Palestinian. I think this is a cover for destroying the theater.
If Israel wasn't intrested in destroying the theater then why are they bent on arresting people working with the theater? Why did the IDF thugs do physical damage to the theater?
Is it possible that Israel doesn't even want Palestinians to dream of freedom yet along have a theater that uses the word "FREEDOM" in its name?
Israel is certainly not responsible for every bad thing that happens in the ME but they are cerainly responsible for a lot of it. I suspect that you would whitewash everything Israel does.
It might be that the Israeli authorities should investigate themselves regarding the terrible murder of Juliano. If Israel didn't like the theater, and it is obvious that they don't, what better way then to get rid of the director and try to pin the blame on the Palestinians.
It is an old trick and Israel is not above using that trick.
This is amazing writing that brought me to tears.
How much can the people of Gaza take?
How cruel can Israel be? Sadly I think we already know the answer to that question.
Looks like Kinky has a dual loyalty. I wouldn't be surprised if his primary loyalty is to Israel. If that is one of the reasons he supports this king of the executions then it is certain that his first loyalty is to Israel. No wonder he is called "Kinky."
Maybe it is time for the Jews to leave the stolen land and then they won't have to worry.
And in Brooklyn a young boy was tortured and murdered by a religious Jew. Following your logic no one should hire or even befriend a relgious Jew because they might murder your child.
I guess that either Meehan or someone in his office did not like the comments. They all have been removed and comments are closed.
Obviously he can't take the heat.
Israel can supply their own damned weapons. If they have enough money to build their illegal settlements they should have enough money to pay for their own weapons of death and repression.
They can also get the hell out of the West Bank and either allow the ethnically cleansed Palestinians to return to their homes or be paid reparations.
It is past time for the US to treat Israel just like every other country.
You should also understand that had there been no Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza there would be no Hamas. Hamas arose as a resistance group only after the PLO found that there was no way that Israel was going to end their damned brutal occupation. In 1988, 21 years after the start of the occupation, PLO head Arafat recognized Israel but all the Palestininas got was continued IDF brutality and more land theft and settlements. It was then that many Palestinians turned to Hamas. If you don't like Hamas put the blame right at the feet of Israel.
Also don't forget that Israel has closed every door to non-violent resistance. In the mid 1970s the IDF marched into the office of the president of BirZeit University, put a bag over his head and deported him to Jordan. His crime in the eyes of the Israeli occupiers? He advocated non-violent resistance to the occupation.
The attacks on non-violent resisters still goes on in many of the towns and villages of the West Bank.
In spite of bleating and whining about wanting "negotiations" with the Palestinians, Israel has made it quite obvious that their end game is to grab most of the land, make life so miserable for Palestinians that they will leave and put the remaining Palestinians into apartheid-like South Africa bantustans.
Then Israel can really be far more an apartheid state than it is now.
After Israel's latest attacks on the Jenin Freedom Theater there seems to be little doubt that the Israeli government was responsible for the murder of Juliano.
After all for Palestinins to even think of freedom let alone use the word Freedom in the name of the theater is an anathema to Israel and those persons must be punished in whatever way Israel chooses..
And after that all expenses paid junket there is no doubt how they will vote. Surely they have been well indoctrinated into Israel's demand for control over all of Jerusalem and they will shuder with fear if anyone calls for a Palestinian state on the 1967 line. And when it comes to voting for any resolution supporting whatever terrible thing Israel does they will jump to their feet to show their deep commitment to Israel.
Maybe some of them might even propose that every member of Congress replace the American flag in their lapel with an Israeli flag. I am certain that resolution would get a large number of votes.
Given the terrible state of our economy why weren't these people working in their districts? Oh, silly me. They want the largesse that is poured out by the Israel First community in this country. Their districts come second.
It might be a good idea to make a call to these members of Congress and ask why a trip to Israel during these bad times in the US was more important than dealing with problems in their district?
It seems obvious that Israel wants to shut down the Freedom Theater.
Also I have little doubt that the murderer of Juliano Mer Khamis last April was Israeli.
Israel's actions against the theater point the finger right at the Israeli governent.
So as a poster can I enable comments????
After I watched the youtube video of the vicious water canon attack by an Israeli warship against a peaceful boat I posted a comment. There had already been one comment, not praiseworthy of Israel, posted. After I wrote my comment, also not praiseworthy of Israel, and clicked post I saw in red the word "Error" and was told to post again.
I went back to the video and saw that youtube and just placed in the comment area the words "adding comments has been disabled for this video."
Would it be wrong to guess that youtube is run by Zionists who do not like criticism of Israel?"
When is the world going to realize that the so-called Israeli "democracy" is nothing but a myth. It is today and always has been.
You shall not perish. You will survive the terrible agony that Israel loves to unleash on those who will not bow to Israeli tyranny, a tyranny that is supported and paid for by the United States.
One day, hopefully a day that is not too far off, you will live without the fear of Israeli terror. Enshallah.
It looks like activists would do well to avoid Facebook or Twitter when they plan actions that Israel won't like. There must be a better way.
Anyone who says that this is not a Zionist controlled government must have rocks in the head. Recently New York Representative Gary Ackerman wrote in the Jerusalem Post that every Jewish legislator in the world must take into great consideration the interests of Israel. One might ask which country Ackerman represents.
Since it is the US under pressure from Israel that has put every obstacle in front of this courageous crew I ask the following question:
On July 4, 1776 we declared our independence from Britain.
When will we declare our independence from Israel?
If the Greek Embassy read the posts on Ynet they might feel ashamed of helping Israel. The remarks target the Greeks to the point that one might think that these Israelis were speaking about Palestinians. It is obvious that Israelis hate the Greeks so what is Greece doing. Cutting its own throat?
Wouldn't they scream like stuck pigs if someone sabotaged one of their boats!
Because Americans can contribute to the JNF and get a tax deduction for this blood money and because not one word of condemnation has come from the OBama regime, our country is also guilty of aiding and abetting the criminals of Israel.
The JNF has a long and sick history of planting trees to cover up the evidence of the Palestinians villages that were demolished after 1948.
When Israel faced no repercussions from the US after their deliberate attack on the USS Liberty they knew they could get away with anything and the US would look the other way.
A few years ago after our bought and paid for Congress had almost unanimously voted for a resolution demanding that the Palestinians recognize Israel I made several calls to the offices of the leadership as well as to the offices of other members of Congress who had voted for the resolution.
I thought my question to them was simple. Which Israel should they recognize? Israel on the 1967 line or Israel with all the settlements?
No one in any of the offices could answer that question.
Problem is that a lot of newspapers won't print the letters that are written. I know that I am not the only one to write letters critical of Israel to the San Francisco Chronicle. In years past several were printed. But now it seems that if a letter that doesn't praise Israel is printed it can't be signed by someone with a name that might be Jewish - as is my name.
Maybe if newspapers are flooded with letters they might just change their policies.
Don't all three want world domination?
A powerful video. It should be seen by every American especially by those who have no idea of what Israel has done to the Palestinian people.
ee - The only responsibility for the Palestinians remaining refugees belongs with Israel. It was the Jews of Israel, including one of my close relatives, who drove out the Palestinian inhabitants of the land. You can blame Lebanon or the other Arab countries as much as you like but ALL the blame belongs with Israel and no one else. When the UN passed Res. 194 calling for all refugees willing to live in peace to be allowed to return,Israel, as it has done at every turn, thumbed its nose at the UN, the organization responsible in the first place for the creation of the Jewish state.
Israel is guilty of the war crime of ethnic cleansing and nothing can change that.
LeaNder - Thanks for the address. He just got a piece of my mind. So far it hasn't bounced back. Maybe he needs to hear from a few more people.
I wish I knew how to contact Jeffrey Wiesenfeld so I could tell him how my now deceased American born relative was an ethnic cleanser of the Palestinians in 1948. When he went to Palestine in 1947 he joined the Palmach and participated in the cleansing of many of the villages of what is now northern Israel. Several years later he described how the hapless soon to be refugees were driven at gunpoint from their homes across the border into Lebanon. They were not even given time to put on their shoes that had been left by their front door.
When I asked my relative why the Jews drove out the Arabs (the words "ethnic cleansing" were not used in those days) his reply was: "We wanted the land and we didn't want them on it."
If Wiesenfeld doesn't want to believe me all he needs to do is spend a few hours reading Ilan Pappe and Benny Morris who describe in detail the ethnic cleansing.
Denial does not make the truth go away.
To counteract this hasbara, protesters should have several large posters topped with the words THEY HAD NO BOMB SHELTERS. Under these words should be a multitude of photos of the bodies of Palestinian children murdered by Israeli missiles, bullets and white phosphorus. About a dozed of these oversize posters might show the true face of this conflict.
It isn't difficult to think of the U .S. and Israel as the axis of evil. Certainly what those two countries have done over the years falls into the category of evil.
Lets not forget that just a few months ago the chief rabbi of the right wing Shas party, part of Netanyahu's coaliton, declared that the only function of the "goyim" (his word, not mine) was to serve the Jews. Interestingly enough, there was no outcry from the Jews of Israel or the U.S. or any outcry from the "goyim" in Congress who constantly serve Israel at the expense of their own country.
Guess that Huckabee has no problem being a servant. He does his job well.
No matter what this vile Piper of Evil has to say we can be sure that is first thought is about Israel. It matters not a bit to him whether people in other countries have their freedom. It is all about Israel.
He can just stick it up his Pipes.
It is likely that once again the US government will refuse to do what is right and will veto the Security Council res.
It will fall on deliberately deafened ears but this is part of an email I sent to the spineless Obama.
Our government calls on the two parties to "negotiate." This is like calling on the party who has stolen my house not to move out but to negotiate with me while he moves more of his family into my house, remodels it and keeps me out while threatening to shoot me if I come too close to my house. Meanwhile the police keep telling the thief of my house and me to "negotiate" but the police support the thief because he is their "friend."
