Selma/Gaza

My post about Ted Koppel on Charlie Rose going on about the heroic civil rights movement while there's a civil rights movement unfolding right in front of us in Israel/Palestine moved a friend who worked in Gaza to say, "Do you know if the Free Gaza Movement has plans to post to youtube the video footage of Israelis attacking Palestinian fishing boats with a water cannon? They could send it to Ted Koppel (or Charlie Rose) with a second link to Eyes on the Prize footage of water cannons in use (and Bull Connor in sickening action)?

"I think Ted Koppel might be convinced to actually do something
about the matter.   It was a Ted Koppel-organized forum in 1988 that
helped get me interested in the conflict. He brought on Hanan Ashrawi
and I was blown away as I watched late one night on my campus. As I
recall, there was some sort of partition between the Israeli and
Palestinian delegations.  I was fortunate to have a brilliant professor
tip me off to it.  He was the only African-American professor I had in
my college and graduate career.  Students would stay afterwards and
talk to him for ages."

So, kudos to Koppel after all.
