In an interview with the Nation, Chas Freeman sharpens his attack, saying that by the lobby he means the unflinching support for rightwing Israeli governments and notes his support from Jews.
I had a really amazing outpouring of support, privately, not just from
individuals, from Jewish-Americans of other views who hope that this
was going to open up room for a discussion.

The two points are related. As the monolith starts to crack, and we get J Street Jews and AIPAC Jews, J Street Jews will be at least a little sympathetic to Freeman in urging open debate of rightwing Israeli policies. And Freeman, who began as I did, by placing responsibility for Israel's hateful policies on almost all American Jews, will change his rhetoric somewhat, as I have too, and form a coalition with the Good Jews.
