Engel and Hoyer play Jew/Not a Jew with racist Israeli foreign minister

Imagine if Hamas tried to set foot in the U.S. Capitol? Here's a disgraceful interview with NY Congressman Eliot Engel, who went out of his way to meet with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman last month. Reporter Jason Horowitz notes that Sarkozy (Pres.-FR) avoided Lieberman at all costs but that Sens. Arlen Specter, Carl Levin, and Russell Feingold, who I believe has some childhood expansionist-Israel Jewish identification that prevents him thinking clearly on these matters, met with the racist Foreign Minister.

"If both sides are being pressured," Engel said he told Lieberman, "I have no problem talking about settlements."

…After the 15-minute meeting, [House Majority Leader Steny] Hoyer came into the room and Engel told
Lieberman that "out of all the members of Congress who are not Jewish,
he is the strongest on Israel."

"'Even among those who are Jewish,'" Hoyer joked, according to
Engel. Lieberman and his entourage of embassy staffers and his deputy
Danny Ayalon all laughed.

And the joke is on who?
