Israel supreme court says Palestinian family prison visits are not ‘humanitarian need’

Per Agence France Presse: Israeli court bars Gazan family members from visiting their loved ones in Israeli jails:

Israel’s Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a government decision that bars Gaza Strip residents visiting relatives in Israeli jails, saying this is not a "basic humanitarian need."

Says my tipster: "It is a violation of the Geneva conventions to imprison residents of an occupied territory outside of said territory. Now Gazans imprisoned thus are being denied familial visitation. The Israeli Supreme Court made its decision based on its assessment of humanitarian needs, not treaty obligations. I guess the Geneva Conventions are pretty much a joke to everybody, including us."
