JVP has a petition up to urge CUNY to grant Tony Kushner an honorary degree after all. Meantime, “Arthur” left this comment on Jerry Haber’s post “Contact the CUNY Board of Trustees About Their Decision“:
I did contact two board members I know, and got the following from one of them: “In truth – and the record does show – I did not “reneg” on Kushner’s degree. After Wiesenfelds unbelievable diatribe/outburst, which none of us expected, I voted to discuss this matter further. Procedurally, we were prevented from that discussion. The chancellor though is very much like our President. Look for a positive resolution.” Hopefully he’s right.
