After reading one beautiful hopeful sentence on a blog by a Gazan friend I wrote him and told him it made me cry.
You should not cry. The other day when my Dad returned back from Egypt carrying my 26-year old sister’s dead body along with him, and crossing from an Israeli checkpoint, an Israeli soldier asked him” Why do you cry?? All of us will die”! my Dad didn’t reply. This very soldier spared no effort to prevent her from getting medical attention outside Gaza so that she passed away. We should not cry, right?
