Lupe Fiasco, member of the human race, takes his stand on Palestine

For a slow day/inspiration… Check out the huge cheers from the crowd.

So this just my personal political view. I just so happen to have millions of fans that listen to what i say. Lupe Fiasco, as a member of the human race, put in my vote for Palestine to be the newest state, yeah……Free Palestine everyone… Free Palestine.

This is big. It helps mainstream the cause. I waited on Nas to take up Palestine…but he never did. A shame.

Thanks for the hat tip, Annie.

Your article on the BET awards performance spurred me on to write about Lupe Fiasco’s support of both Palestinian rights and the OWS movement. He was helping raise money in the Bay area yesterday for winter gear for OWS activists.

A true human. If you don’t know his song “Words I never said”, give it a go:

THe first time I heard Lupe was on Kanye’s first album and then I heard this Song “he gets the girl” and it’s pretty good. Lupe is a smart guy, not the stereotypical rapper.

Good on him to bring awareness to this. being involved in hip-hip and posting on a few forums dedicated to hip-hop. Hip Hop heads are already quite aware of this issue and majority support the palestinians. THis is all anecdotal evidence based on my participation in the forums. But I think it would represent a good sample.

I still would love Jay-z, who has so much star power to take up this issue, or at least release one song with some mainstream appeal that addresses this. He would not be able to be character assassinated. And even if they tried, he’d just brush the dirt of his shoulders. Like someone above suggested, Nas would be another good one to speak up, but doesn’t have the same star power as Jigga.
