Settler siren channels Miley Cyrus in bulldozer vid

It’s Shabbos, so enjoy the video above!

P.S. A few words of explanation. +972 and Heeb magazine say the video, by settler siren Orit Arfa, is the worst video ever made. Called “Jews Can’t Stop,” Arfa riffs off Miley Cyrus’s song, We Can’t Stop. Cyrus sang:

“Can’t you see it’s we who own the night?… It’s our body, we can do what we want to.”

And Arfa replaces “night” and “body” with the land of the West Bank. The front-end-loader (Bamford, a British make) is featured at 1:13.

This couplet is wise, as Arfa rolls her eyes.

And everyone in line for peace

Trying to get a Nobel for peace.

Arfa is an American-Israeli artist who says she was fired by the Zionist Organization of America, “can aptly be described as a Renaissance Woman,” and lives in a West Bank settlement. She lately expressed rage at Jeffrey Goldberg for being too nice to the Obama administration, and again riffed on Miley Cyrus in a scatological manner:

He makes Miley’s famous tongue look really short from the way he wields his own up the behind of Obama and his officials. Miley might take some pointers from him. Of course, his most vulgar statement is suggesting that engaging in ethnic cleansing of Jews from Judea and Samaria to create a Palestinian state will lead to peace and prestige for Israel, not to mention peace-on-earth for the Palestinians, who’d be left to kill and oppress each other, if we can judge from what happened after the Gaza pull-out. He’s more concerned with Israel’s prestige–and his own.

It’s self-interested, prestige-obsessed Jewish men like Jeffrey Goldberg that make this Jewish girl sympathize with Miley Cyrus.

Here’s her anti-BDS song. Love song to Israel:

“She is a miracle besieged by liars… Haters scream so loud. But she’s not backing down.”

you should be proud of the exposure, no?

as an aside, originally i thought it was a spoof video. but nah, she’s for real.

It’s from a settler. Of course it’s going to be lousy. No soul = no art.

“Is there no end to your evil.”

The only evil here is the fact that you, her and the rest of you squatters haven’t been shown justice yet.

      Oleg,
just to get this straight, you consider it “EVIL” to do a feature on “lousy music” but yet remain silent about home demolitions, imprisonment of non-violent protesters, the siege of Gaza, theft of land, Military & Settler violence against Palestinians, etc?

Agreed. I’ve not been this troubled since the Wehrmacht was, likewise, “ethnically cleansed” from Reichskommissariat Ostland in the 1940s.

The most godawful video EVER! I honestly have never seen anything THIS atrocious. Even oleg won’t have anything to do with it, the stinker of a video that it is.

Bad taste is often funny, but when it comes out of israel, it’s actually like a painful infliction upon all the human senses.

(Don’t get me started on the zionists’ architectural uglification of the holy lands!)

RE: “Settler siren channels Miley Cyrus in bulldozer vid”

MY COMMENT: I can’t help but be reminded of Bob Dylan!

    CHABADNICK* BOB DYLAN (1983):

Well, the neighborhood bully, he’s just one man
His enemies say he’s on their land
They got him outnumbered about a million to one
He got no place to escape to, no place to run
    He’s the neighborhood bully . . .
    . . . Neighborhood bully, standing on the hill [i.e., Hilltop Youth – J.L.D.]
    Running out the clock
    , time standing still
    Neighborhood bully

P.P.S. FROM “Bob Dylan – The Rolling Stone Interview” (by Kurt Loder – 1984)

. . . • Q (Loder) -Your latest album, ‘Infidels’, is hardly subteen fodder. Some critics have even detected a new note of conservatism in some of the songs — even outright jingoism in “Neighborhood Bully” in which the metaphorical subject is said to be “just one man” whose “enemies say he’s on their land.” That’s clearly a strong
Zionist political statement, is it not?
      • A (Dylan) – You’d have to point that out to me, you know, what line is in it that spells that out. I’m not a political songwriter. Joe Hill was a political songwriter; uh, Merle Travis wrote some political songs. “Which Side Are You On?” is a political song. And “Neighborhood Bully,” to me, is not a political song, because if it were, it would fall into a certain political party. If you’re talkin’ about it as an Israeli political song – in Israel alone, there’s maybe twenty political parties. I don’t know where that would fall, what party.
      • Q (Loder) – Well, would it be fair to call that song a heartfelt statement of belief?
      • A (Dylan) – Maybe it is, yeah. But just because somebody feels a certain way, you can’t come around and stick some political-party slogan on it. If you listen closely, it really could be about other things. It’s simple and easy to define it, so you got it pegged, and you can deal with it in that certain kinda way. However, I wouldn’t do that. ‘Cause I don’t know what the politics of Israel is. I just don’t know.
      • Q (Loder) – So you haven’t resolved for yourself, for instance, the Palestinian question?
      • A (Dylan) – Not really, because I live here.

      • Q (Loder) – Would you ever live in Israel?
      • A (Dylan) – I don’t know. It’s hard to speculate what tomorrow may bring. I kinda live where I find myself.
At another point in the song, you say, “He got no allies to really speak of,” and while “he buys obsolete weapons and he won’t be denied…no one sends flesh and blood to fight by his side.” Do you feel that America should send troops over there?
No. The song doesn’t say that. Who should, who shouldn’t — who am I to say?
      • Q (Loder) – Well, do you think Israel should get more help from the American Jewish community? I don’t want to push this so far, but it just seems so…
      • A (Dylan) – Well, you’re not pushing it too far, you’re just making it specific. And you’re making it specific to what’s going on today. But what’s going on today isn’t gonna last, you know? The battle of Armageddon is specifically spelled out: where it will be fought, and if you wanna get technical, when it will be fought. And the battle of the Armageddon definitely will be fought in the Middle East. . .

Here is one mass circulation Israeli daily that did not find Arfa’s video to be offensive.

Arfa is a journalist who has written a novel about a young Jewish women who was evacuated from Gaza in 2005. What are the chances that we will hear more from her again? Maybe a short story in The New Yorker? Remember Shani?

The “Surfing Jew” doesn’t say anything positive about the clip, and even puts “for the benefit of” [the State of Israel] in scare quotes.

One of the commenters seems to think the whole thing is a “left-wing, extremist, secular, Ashkenazi, hate-filled” smear-job from “the sewers of Tel Aviv” :-)

@Shmuel No, it does not say anything positive about the clip, but does not say anything negative. As you point out Ma’ariv did put quotes around “for the benefit of,” implying disapproval.

Here are two more newspaper that picked up Arfa. Neither really critical. The Ynet article asks Arfa about doing a parody of “Wrecking Ball” making the connection to Israeli house demolitions.
